Go to Settings > Sharing in your admin Dashboard. Down at the very bottom, make sure for the "Show buttons on" option you have the checkbox next to "Front Page, Archive Pages, and Search Results" selected.

My blog does not have 'like' buttons under individual blogs on my home page. To 'like' one of my blogs a reader has to click on the blog link in the sidebar menu.

I ask this question because I have seen WordPress blogs with like buttons under each blog on home page

The WordPress.com like button is an in-house like button. It's like every other in-house member use only like button (example Facebook like button). Only logged in WordPress.com bloggers can use the WordPress.com like button on WordPress.com blogs.

Also note likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can "like" and "share" your posts in several locations such as the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat. For the tags, are you saying that I have too many and I need to get rid of some? I have never had anything sent to me saying there are too many so let me know if this is complicating things as well.

I am saying please reasd the support documentation so you become aware that using an excessive number of tags means your posts will bot be displayed on the WordPress.com global tag pages. You never will have anything sent to you -- your posts just won't appear there.

Also note that search engines take a dim view of the over user of tags to gain attention. Tags are not required for search engine optimization purposes. Excessive use of tags is AKA as spamdexing or tag spamming and if you stick with that habit you may find your posts appeara wayyyyyyyyy back in the Google SERPs (search engine page results).

It makes tonnes of sense to those of us who have well established blogs and who gets lots of comments. In a new blog one does not have many posts or comments. In an established blog if the comments did not collapse on the front page it would become a mile long in no time flat and page loading time is a page ranking factor. Stdies reveal we have only 3 - 4 seconds before visitors refuse to wait for the site to load and click out.

So therefore, none of the likes will ever show up on the main page? Why is this? Makes no sense. Is there anything that can be done to show this? It's important to me because my blog is for my business so it's good when it shows people liking the posts.

Not to worry. I can see them. Click the title on your posts and they open on their own page. At the bottom of the posts above the comment boxes you can see the gravatars of those who "liked" each post. Bote: The front pages of our blogs showcase content, comments are collapsed on the front page and you cannot change this.

Also with regard to the combined number of categories and tags you are using please see here > global tags > missing posts

Hi,

I've been getting so many more likes for my posts which is awesome but the only issue I am having is that the people who liked them or how many people like them doesn't show up on the blog to the public. It only shows up to me when I am logged in which is strange. Under my settings>>sharing, I do have the box checked next to where it says I want the likes to be shown and who likes them.

Can someone PLEEEAASE help me!! I'd greatly appreciate it.

Oh, one more comment. When I tried to copy it into the "Text" widget, it kept adding "amp" after the ampersands (&). I tried taking them out, but then when I clicked save, it put them right back in.

Had the same problem with the embed code. Tried the gigya code and it's still not working. I get the box, but there's nothing in it. Is there something about this particular embed code that isn't going to work? Here's the code (and I'll also include the gigya code I came up with)

Also, when you put the Facebook sharing button in your "enabled" area, you can choose between having a sharing button & a like button. If you choose the "share" option, then you can use the badge that airodyssey suggests in a widget.

You can't insert a Like Box, but the Facebook Badge can be used as an alternative.

In regards to your second question, you can see who subscribed to your blog via the WordPress.com blog subscriptions under Stats > View All > Totals > Site subscriptions.

Also, I have a widget for readers to sign up via feedburner. I checked Home-My Subscriptions. Subscriptions lists blogs to which I subscribe. How do I find out the addresses of those who have subscribed to me by email?

1. I've read up on the Facebook badges. I don't want a badge as much as a "like" button. I can't seem to figure that out.
