Here's one way to do that:

or if the space between the excerpts can be decreased...

To remove some of the space from below posts on the Linen home page, add this to your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS editor:

Is there any way to bring back the old configurable text-box line-length in Settings -> Writing?

I believe you can sort this though. Move your mouse to the lower right hand corner of the text box (you will see two diagonal lines). Your mouse should change to the Resize pointer (double arrows). Click and drag and you can re-size the box to whatever size you like.

Do you have an example post where this is occurring so I can look into the issue further?

I have a big problem - every time I insert a picture at the end of my blog there is too much space above and below the image, so you can't even see there is an image attached to the blog. I have tried to remove the lines but it doesn't seem to work.

LOVE any advice on this annoying issue !!!!!

1) Is there a CSS code to put a long black line between my main body and the widget side bar on the right side?

The problem with adding a line between to variable height elements is that if one is longer than the other, in some cases the line will come out looking too short. To try to battle that in this case, I tried adding a border to the right of the content area and the left of the sidebar area at the same time and overlapping them. Try out this CSS and test it out:

.two-column #content {
	padding-right: 20px;
	border-right: 3px solid black;
}
#primary {
	padding-left: 21px;
	border-left: 3px solid black;
}

2) If not a black line, is there a CSS code wherein I'd be able to place each widget on the right side bar in a table-box with just a thin-line border, rounded corners to be more specific?

lines are very widely spaced. I know it has something to do with the fact that each line contains one or more icons, but these icons are very tiny (15x20).
Is there any html tag I could use to have the lines more close to each other?
