How do I single space blogs, they come out double space

Blog editors and wordproccessers are not the same and do not work the same way. The web standard is one blank line only, so you cannot add more blank lines by pressing return repeatedly like you would do with a typewriter or in a word processing application.

If you are working in the Visual editor, to get single spacing between paragraphs hold the SHIFT key down and simultaneously click ENTER at the end of the paragraph.

If you are working in the HTML (Text) editor, a single click of ENTER will give you a single-spaced line, and two clicks of ENTER will result in double spaced lines. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/09/13/wordpress-formatting-and-spacing/

How do you add a Link to a blog?

Hi there,
See here for how to create links in posts and pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/

This is the general format of a link:
General link model:

Highlighted anchor text here

You type the anchor text in first. Then you use your mouse to highlight the anchor text ie. to "select" it. Then you click the link icon and the pop-up box appears for you to type the URL etc. into. Do note that the practice of using "here" as anchor text is not a good one at all. The best practice is to use meaningful anchor text such as the exact title and/or keywords in the title in the article you are linking to.

Thanks TimeThief. I would not literally use the word furniture. I would say for example, I bought this great console table and I want readers to click on the word and go to the page where they can purchase that particular table. The reason I would not want to link to the word IKEA or in this case BALLARD DESIGNS is because I am referring to one specific product and not the entire store / merchant.

I want my blog to give people recommendations on where to buy certain items so yes, I guess I am advertising for certain stores. Thanks for the help

The reason it's a violation is because you are using someone else's bandwidth without permission and bandwidth costs money. Here's an example: You capture an image from someone else's site without their permission and you link back to it. Thousands of readers click that image on your site which then uses up the bandwidth the other site that the other blogger is paying for.

Hello there,
I can help with that. Here's how to make links in posts and pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/
This is the general link model:

Highlighted anchor text here

To make an anchor text link like this one smilesalot1969 you type this first smilesalot1969 and then you highlight it with your mouse, click the chain (link) icon in your editor and enter the URL and the smilesalot1969.wordpress.com title and click insert.
smilesalot1969

Hi there,
See here for how to create links in posts and pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/
