I'm trying to create a second sidebar orientated to the right side of my "smoked" theme to move some widgets. As much as I've read in WordPress threads and other information found on other sites, I still receive errors in syntax. I've created a second sidebar.php file, tried adding plurals and 2 counts to register notations in the functions file, and also added code to the index file. Still I receive errors. Can anyone tell me definitively how to do this?
Thanks for your help.

Was your local install visible to the internet? You might be able to move to a .ORG install without bringing up the old site - you would get help over at WordPress.ORG - but if you can bring up the old site for a few days (a few hours if the name servers and such were not changed (you just pulled the plug on the site itself) ) - then you can do an export / import as noted above - the reason you want to old site up and needing to be visible on the internet is the export file does not have the media in it - only links to the media (pictures, files etc.) so any import without a site up live will not bring in any media -

If your install was "local" in that it was never visible or reachable from the internet then you are a bit stuck to move it directly to here and would need help from WordPress.ORG - if the old site was not visible on the internet but you have an Export / .xml file you should be able to import the file but all the media would be missing - but the text should show up

I've seen lots of instructions on how to migrate the other way, but is there best practices for moving data onto a wordpress.com.

Also our site is currently down & we might not want to bring the wordpress install back to life, is there anyway to pay wordpress.com to migrate the data for us? I see it is $129 to move the other direction.

My code inside wordpress file:

<br />
$mydb = new wpdb('user','pass','dbs','localhost');<br />

print_r($rows);<br />
