Here are some troubleshooting steps to take:
If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

1. Try clearing your browser’s cache: http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Please let us know which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com and also post any error reports you get.

I have a wordpress.com site and recently purchased a Macbook pro. I cannot type a new post! I tried in Google Chrome and Safari. Both will let me type the title, but will not allow me to type text in the post field. I've tried the visual and text tab, neither work. I've never had this issue on a Mac before.

I've received several responses from guys not being able to see any pictures on my site. I use a MacBook Pro to update and design my blogsite, but anytime people using IE try to view my site they tell me that they cannot see all the pictures. Is there something that I can do on my side of things to sort out the issue?

I have been using an PC with my theme and it has been working well. Until, recently, I switched to using a Mac. Then I noticed that on my feature slider then first Image comes up really big and without a title. I do not know if this is only a problem with Macs or with my theme in general. I would like to know how to fix this problem. `I am using a showcase page and everything has been working swimmingly until now.

Please start your own threads rather than posting off-topic into existing threads. I shall answer you here just this once. I suspect that that you have been copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor. The reason your sidebar has fallen and is displaying below your posts
is either due to copying and pasting or it's a result of
importing text containing invalid HTML. Typically this is caused by an
open HTML tag in one of your posts.
Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct
invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click
“Save Changes.”

Now, starting with your latest post, open it in the editor, make one
minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it, and then
click “Update Post.” Check your blog and see if it is back to normal.
If it’s not, then look for an open HTML tag and close it. Check your
blog again and see if it is back to normal. If it’s still “messed up”
then open the next post and do the same thing post by post until it goes
back to normal.

I'm having an issue with my layout not loading properly. For some reason my side bar is at the bottom of my blog. I have not changed my layout since I set it up and today is the first day I've had issues. I have even had a friend load the page and she said she saw the same thing. I am able to load the CSS pages listed above with no errors, and I've restarted my computer and cleared the cache on my browser.

Is there a glitch with wordpress or a change I am unaware of?

Thanks! I unplugged my modem this morning and it didn't help, but maybe it wasn't for long enough. I'll try again and report back.

I think I know exactly what you're referring to. I also use a MacBook and had what sounds like that same problem for two extremely frustrating weeks. I tried everything you did to no avail... what finally solved the problem was unplugging my modem and airport (wireless modem), plugging them back in and restarting the computer. Everything's been working fine since then. Good luck!

Today WordPress fully loads for the most part but I'm still struggling greatly with the layout and formatting of my actual blog. The photos I uploaded after my computer upgrade are regular jpegs but cannot be edited in my draft. Every time I click on a photo to edit it or add another, nothing happens. And photo alignment of published posts is off...different problems depending on which browser I view it in. I just don't understand why my published content has changed and why drafts don't work properly! Center-aligned photos are being published left-aligned, etc.

Thanks! I will have to reboot in the morning but I'll report back. Our connectivity is not the best. I'm relieved to know the blog looks fine on other computers, just stressed that it doesn't look right on mine. Thanks again all!

The CSS files are just text files - the exercise is to see if you can load the files without errors on a timely basis - not to have you look for errors in them.

Safari 5.0.3 should work just fine with WordPress so there shouldn't be any issues regarding that. The fact that you got timeouts leads me to believe it might be something with your internet connection or perhaps some issue at your ISP.

Reboot your internet modem and see what that does.

Hi timethief, I thought I did do as TSP requested...Safari had problems loading the links without dropping the connection but when they did open as CSS I did not see errors...but I'm not very familiar with CSS.

Are you behind a firewall, or have you made any firewall settings in Mac OS?

What version of Mac OS are you using? What version of Safari?

Oh and I just checked my blog again and it does look jumbled from my computer :( photos and font of published posts are off-center among other things.

My published blog posts are fine, but I haven't published a post with pictures since the error, and with Preview acting up I'm nervous about what a post might look like after I publish. Also, navigating anywhere else on WordPress is difficult with the loading and formatting errors.

I have cleared my cache and cookies--several times this week actually.

Safari had problems opening each of those links (server dropped the connection) but I do see CSS. Other than the sites not loading at all 2/3 of the time that I click on the links, they seem fine. I confess I don't know a lot about CSS though.

Your blog looks just fine to me.

Have you tried logging out, clearing your browser cache and cookies, restarting your browser and then trying again?

Also, I have tried re-starting my computer several times, and I even installed Firefox and opened WordPress.com on Firefox and it looks the same.

Hi everyone! This problem could be related to recently running updates on my MacBook, but this week (January 12-) WordPress will not load correctly for me. Right now this page looks basic, like an old-fashioned website or like when a page is only half-loaded. The tabs on my dashboard constantly move or are repeated triple, and when I preview a post it changes every time--ex: photos I set to "center" will be on the left for one preview, the right for another; font will go bold one preview and not another, etc. It's making it impossible for me to post and I need help! Thanks!

If the file is downloading, it is an XML file which if you look at it will look like a jumbled mess. You can open an XML file with a text editor. Textedit will work if the file isn't too large (I think there is a 2mb limit or something like that on textedit).

To look at it with Textedit, you will have to open textedit and then use the open command.

Do know that if you change anything in that file, and don't know what you are doing, you can mess it up so that if you try to import it, it will just error out on you.

I am trying down export and download my wordpress blog into my MacBook computer to be used and imported. When I hit the download button, (it says "restrict all players" and I hit the export button, downloads and my MacBook won't read the file. Any help? Thoughts? Thanks.....

Really not liking the new dashboard here.
I'm using a Mac and have to use Firefox (not the bowser I prefer) to insert pictures and other media. The really bizarre thing is that if I use Firefox to look at my latest entry, I have a picture where I put one. If I look at the same page with Safari, I don't get the picture even thought the code is there.

I also really miss the word counter. It was a great way to enforce self editing.

Wow. Just checked the other upload option which says, "You are using the Flash uploader. Problems? Try the Browser uploader instead." It uploads the pictures one by one. Then you still have to go to the media library to insert it into the post.

But going to the media library and inserting the picture is working much better now, too: choosing "center" now works. They are making progress. That must have just happened within the last few minutes (hour?).
