WordPress.com uses PayPal as the payment processor, and as such, can only accept payment from countries they support: https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/

For whatever reason, they have chosen to block payment from your country, so you will not be able to purchase an upgrade here unless you have a source of payment outside of it.

In addition to major credit cards Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and PayPal https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/ WordPress.com can accept echecks and some debit cards.

The debit card must have a VISA or Mastercard symbol on it, and should work just like a credit card when selecting the VISA or Mastercard option on the payment form, even though it's a debit card.

I have a blog on blogger and I paid for it with same MasterCard without any fuse (www.acebentleycrew.org) godaddy also accept this Nigerian debit MasterCard so why is WordPress a difference.

Plz, your team should do a review of this polic, Nigerians now do real time online shopping and payment both within and abroad. This policy by your organization and PayPal is born of the cliche that Nigerians are scammers. I am not and many Nigerians are not.

I've already contacted PayPal support about this subject.
I've been informed that the "Bank account validation"[1] method is not supported for all countries (Portugal in my case).
In these situations, credit card method is mandatory.
