Hi,

I think the Gallery would be the best way to go. Do you have the Custom Design upgrade?

There likely is a way to modify the spacing/border/etc of the gallery pictures to work toward your end.

In either case, the workflow would be to delete/draft the individual page and then modify the gallery to remove that particular image.

Perhaps not a slam dunk, but my best thought!

Cheers!

For this website I'm building for a local guitar shop, I want to have thumbnails of products within a certain subcategory which then lead to an individual product page.

If a product is sold, I can obviously delete the individual product page. What I'd like to have, is a system where I can also delete the thumbnail image and have any beneath it knock up a position to fill the space. This is an example of one of the pages in question:

http://carsandguitars.co.uk/electric/les-paul/

I've tried putting the photos into a gallery rather than a 2 column table, but the photos have a border that I can't remove, and I don't have enough caption space for all the information I'd like to have with each photo.

Any suggestions?

Hello guys,

I may be opening a blog/website soon and I wonder if I should do it on WordPress, a powerful tool indeed.
The blog would have multiple writers/authors on it, and I'm just wondering how WordPress manages those?

Firstly, is it possible to have several authors on a wordpress blog?

If yes, how do we do that? Secondly, do they all have the same rights? Also, is it clearly written on the blog post that it was written by X and not by Y?

I'd be grateful if someone could answer these questions and give some other details about multiple writers on WordPress.

eternitainment.com (for eternitainment) is definitely fine now, I'm not sure why that notice was there. Sorry about that!

As for bygeorgelondon.com (for skinnergd), it was just purchased, but working fine.

When a domain is registered or altered, there is a process called propagation, where information about the domain name is passed to internet service providers all over the world. This process can take up to 72 hours (though usually much less). During that time, you may also receive a warning message in your browser about "redirect errors". Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your internet service provider updates their records. Please rest assured that everything is proceeding normally with your domain.

I have successfully renewed a domain registered with WordPress.com. The status is active and it will be automatically renewed next year.

I received a receipt saying Item: Domain Registration – mapped to [eternitainment.wordpress.com]

but it still says "dns needs to be updated" in red letters - sounds like I need to do something. So I click the hyperlink and it says

Map eternitainment.com to your site in 3 steps
1. purchase domain mapping
2. configure your domain

which I involves - "Point eternitainment.com’s nameservers to your site"

I already registered the domain and the receipt tells me it is mapped to the wordpress account! Isn't that all I need to do? It was so easy when I set it up... So why is it telling me the DNS needs updating? Will my site become unavailable?

You have a 48 hour refund window to cancel a domain name registration - spelling can't be fixed - you need to get a refund and cancel the original (or just leave the wrong name) then register a new name - or I guess you could register the correct name and ask for the refund at the same time - but make sure you don't confuse the names - the staff is very careful with domain name registrations so you will need to be very clear what you want done - if you cancel the wrong name it can take up to 60 days to revert back to the wild and some people will squat on the name and hold it hostage.

I will flag this for staff attention to help you

I made the mistake of naming my company something, and over some more thought, I ended up changing it. So now I'm left with the same company and the wrong name for my website. The person who made my blog (and is presumable the administrator) is inactive and out of contact for two years. I've been running the blog as an editor, but would like to be able to add additional authors and a new editor, which are privileges reserved for the administrator. Normally, the administrator would need to "promote" an editor to co-administrator. Is there another way, short of creating an entirely new blog?

Hello there,
We strongly recommend that you consider changing the blog visibility ie. privacy setting to private and using the blog for testing purposes. This is because once a free hosted WordPress.com blog is deleted the blog URL cannot be recycled and reused by anyone.
