Hello auxclass,

Yes, the PDF is a scanned document. I tried several resolutions: 600 DPI, 300 DPI, 150 DPI. In any lesser resolution I don't get a satisfactory result in Acrobat Viewer, i.e. the text, which is in small font, does not appear readable (and please notice, I am not referring to the display of the PDF in the blog).

Thanks,

Thanks for your reply. I did try to open the .PDF file in both Acrobat Reader and SodaPDF2012. In both the docs display fine.

It is true that the first page in particular is hard to read, and one can see the mask. However the later pages still appear almost unreadable.

Hmm, something of note that may or may not be the issue.

When I open the PDF using Chrome's built-in PDF viewer, there is some sort of interference that makes the first page, in particular, hard to read.

When I open the same PDF using Window 8's viewer, that interference is not visible. I haven't checked it using Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader nor any of the viewers on my Ubuntu Linux box yet.

My initial thought is that WordPress didn't modify the file, but the original PDF has some layer that is rendering poorly in some viewers, which happen to include the Chrome viewer.

Can you try downloading the PDF and opening it up in a different viewer? Are you seeing the same results I am?

I am sorry for the delay in replying, I created a new email account for the blog and forgot to check it for messages...

Here is the link to the .PDF file inserted as a media:

http://yuvalgold48.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/amplifiers_0001.pdf

Please notice the unsharpen mask which makes the article (in Hebrew) barely readable.

Thank you very much, appreciate your help.

Hi there - the 404 error is not coming from the WordPress side - it's a Google error page.

As timethief mentioned, our recommended way of pointing a domain to a WordPress.com site is using our domain mapping upgrade:

Okay, that definetly is another way of approaching it and keeping any problems such as this at bay, but may I ask why forwarding is so wrong?
As I said I never had any problems before. And what does the google 404 code has to do with it?

This will help in future decisions. Thanks for your response and input.

I forward and mask domains a lot and this is the first time i have gotten an error code. I have never had to change nameservers before.

The domain is http://www.affordablyhealthy.org (Godaddy) which I am forwarding and masking to affordablyhealthylife.wordpress.com, a free wordpress.com blog

However I am getting a 404 error code. Godaddy states there are too many ip addresses pointing to the domain? I am not the actual owner of the blog, just the one setting it up. Currently waiting for owner to get back with me with acct info so that I can talk with Godaddy more in detail. Until then, I wanted to know is there anything I can do on my end? I have never had this problem before with a free wordpress.com blog.
