I am starting a blog on wordpress.com using Oxygen but plan to either upgrade to custom design or switch to wordpress.org using the same theme so I can learn more about using wordpress to create sites.
--Are they different enough that I should jump to .org. (i.e., will it be a huge headache to switch later with all content in place, etc.)
--Can I use plug-ins on wp.com with custom design?
Thanks--like your blog mucho!

The version of the Oxygen theme we have at WordPress.com is not the same as the versions the runs on WordPress.org software. The version of Oxygen here at WordPress.com was adapted from the WordPress.org version of the theme so it will run on our software here.

Theme description here > http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/oxygen/
Live demo site here > http://oxygendemo.wordpress.com/

Custom Menus
Oxygen supports up to three Custom Menus that can be configured by going to Appearance -> Menus:
The Primary Menu appears below the Site Title
The Secondary Menu appears with a black background, just underneath the Primary Menu
The Tertiary Menu appears in the footer

I have tried various methods to get the secondary menu to show up properly. I also went through your tutorial and on the WordPress.com site the menu association shows only in the customize area. I have now purchase your subscription, however I did not purchase this through word press, will that be an issue?

I did not purchase it through wordpress on purpose because I am getting ready to move my site to my own servers.

Volunteers answering forum questions do not have backend access to blogs and cannot apply technical fixes. May I suggest that you check your custom menu and be sure you have set it up correctly and the save it again? http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-pages-and-categories

In the theme, when I add a new sub-category within the appropriate parent category, the menu system is appropriately updated.

However, my menu system has stopped updating!

For example, under "Articles for Job-Seekers", I only have two sub-catogories - however, I should have six or so sub-cateogries listed!

Can anyone help?

Thanks so much!
