I am interested in the WordAds program for blogs hosted on wordpress.com - but I am unsure about the criteria to get a blog approved.

I understand that I need to purchase a top-level domain for my blog in order to use WordAds. However, there seems to be a possibility that my blog can get rejected even after purchasing a domain. How can I ensure my blog gets approved for WordAds (except for keeping the community guidelines etc.)? I would like to start a new blog for this project I do not have any traffic at this point.

Obviously I do not want to risk paying for a domain and afterwards being stuck without an option for monetization (as other advertising programs are forbidden on wordpress.com).

Thanks in advance for your replies.

FYI: The blog I am planning to do would be written in German, in case that makes a difference.

Also, more and more people are using adblocking plugins/add-ons in their browsers because they are tired of all the ads. I've been using them for a few years and virtually never see any ads. If one does slip through, I just right click and zap it and never see it again.

If your blog is physically located (hosted) here at wordpress.COM, then no matter if you have your own domain name or not, you still have to play by the wordpress.COM rules.
