I want to quickly set up some very similar website for my different but very similar projects?

I think it's important to provide links to backup instructions your post in case like this one because we are not clear if both blogs are WordPress.COM blogs or if one is a WordPress.ORG blog. Also note that many people think their text widget content is exportable when it isn't.

It's a good idea to set the first blog Private, that way it serves as a backup!

And you should be able to go to the original post and edit it to set it as resolved now.

Once you have imported the export file you created into the new blog you can delete any and all posts that you do not want in the new blog and the comments on the deleted posts will disappear along with them. Then when you have the new blog containing only the contents you want in it you can change the blog visibility back to "public".

You can cross link from one blog to the other. You can do this by placing a text widget with the link to the new blog at the top of your sidebar and visa versa.

Or you could create a static Page is an index in the original blog containing the title links to all the posts you moved to the new blog on it.

Yes, and it's easy to do. You can export all contents out of the first blog using this function > Dashboard > Tools > Export

There you will see this:
When you click the button below WordPress will create an XML file for you to save to your computer.

This format, which we call WordPress eXtended RSS or WXR, will contain your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags.

Once you’ve saved the download file, you can use the Import function on another WordPress blog to import this blog.

Then you can import them into the new blog. In the new blog (on WordPress.com), go to Tools -> Import and upload the XML file you downloaded.
