Hi,

Because my webhosting service doesn't allow WordPress wildcards, I had to make subdomain like this:
- make a map in the ftp root
- copy wordpress files to that map
- edit wp-config
- install wordpress
But now, I'll change to another host very soon (a host which does allow WordPress Wildcards). So I'll setup a multisite network.
But my question is, how can I make a copy of my subdomains and import them to my multisite.
I can't just move the files via FTP because when you make a site via multisite, a FTP folder isn't created.

Many thanks in advance!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We have been working for several weeks on our WordPress MU blog, this currently houses 3 other blogs.

Well yesterday I noticed that are in the main blog pages http://www.hqgaming.de without content, but the title does not appear to me.

Example: http://www.hqgaming.de/gaming-news/sprachauswahl/

Normally you would see here the language, text and some images. But up on the title, to me nothing is displayed.

When I look at the admin panel look at the pages, they are filled, so the content should be clear, however, if you want to view the page, these sites remain empty.

Other blogs work, I've also tested for the last plugin is disabled, but not the solution.

Otherwise the main blog, news and review functions can be written and are also displayed correctly, just not pages.

I hope someone can help me of you.

Thank you in advance.

VG

Greetings,

I installed a WordPress Network and activated jetpack, then tried to connect it and got the error:

Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: token_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host. name lookup timed out

Also I tried to deactivate all plugins, activating jetpack in each individual site, using a standard theme, and then retrying to connect without success, the error message preserved :(

It looks like the DNS Servers of wordpress.com can't lookup the domain of my blog/multisite, as I tried using all of your 6 DNS Servers (ns1-6.wordpress.com) to lookup my domain and all of them failed, while other DNS Servers succeeded, this is the tool I used for that: http://www.kloth.net/services/nslookup.php

I suggest you fix this problem in your DNS Servers, or even use other DNS Servers, as the problem seems to repeat with many other people without being solved :\

Network Url is: http://wikilogians.org

At some point in the future, those might be possibilities. At the presnt time, however, both of those scenarios are currently not a good fit for Guided Transfer.

Guided Transfer is designed to move a site over to a single self-hosted WordPress instance with the goal being as close as possible to the way the site is currently at WordPress.com.

I have plugins that register my analytic ID and sitemaps but my question is, do I need to set it up on the main site only, or every single instance of WordPress? I notice that the sitemap for the main site does not go beyond the main site. Is it a problem to transmit the 10 blogs sitemaps to google?

Hello,

When trying to upload media using either the flash or browser method messages informing me that the upload has failed are shown. These issue revolve around the permissions of /wp-content/blogs.dir/2/files/2012/09/. I have manually created this path and have given it the required permissions.

I think this is likely an issue with my .htaccess but I'm not sure exactly where the issue lies.

I have tried giving the www-data account, the root account and the sites FTP accounts access to this. Still no success.

Although not particularly secure, I have also set all permissions to Read / Write. (777).

.htaccess file shown below:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]

RewriteRule ^files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$1 [L]

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule ^ - [L]
RewriteRule . index.php [L]

There are no errors in the Apache access or error logs.

Any suggestions? I'm under pressure to get this resolved quickly so any help would be really appreciated.

Hello.

I'm trying to create a multisite with subdomains for different languages for an already created web.
In General options my url was http://www.centrocalima.com and I changed it to centrocalima.com. I have seen that in the host is also well defined.
I created a subdomain wildcard too.
I follow all the steps that tells me about wordpress wp-config and htaccess but when I try to enter the page tells me that there has been a redirect loop. I tried a thousand things but can not get it to work.

Can you help me please?

Hello,

I currently have WordPress running on http://blogbird.co.uk
I also have other installs of WordPress running on http://blogbird.co.uk/gaming, http://blogbird.co.uk/technology, http://blogbird.co.uk/music and http://blogbird.co.uk/business.

The sites all have the user "admin" and they all have the same password for this account.
My understanding was that upon logging into http://blogbird.co.uk I would be able to add users, change settings and manage themes, etc for all the other installs.

This just isn't working... can someone give me some advice? :)
