my photo is no longer appearing throughout wordpress either...

When I head to wordpress.com I only get a "list" of links and not the actual page I'm used to seeing. Clicking on my dashboard does get me to the dashboard, but I can't navigate back thru wordpress (like to see Freshly Pressed or the Reader). When I click on any of the list topics they won't link up. Not sure what's happening but am sorely missing being able to navigate the main site and especially seeing my Reader! I do have a screen shot of what I'm seeing but not sure how to post it here. THanks for any help.

You can create a custom menu to achieve this. Staff have provided help for those who want to structure their blog like a website. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/

What’s critical is:
(1) a clear comprehension of the differences between pages and posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
(2) a clear comprehension of the fact that there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page. But we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.

We organize our posts by assigning Categories to them. When we publish a post it automatically appears on the running page for posts and also on the Categories pages and Archives pages. Note: There must be one published post in each Category in order for there to be anything to display.

A custom menu allows you to display Categories with drop-downs to sub-categories in tabs along the horizontal navigation where normally only Pages tabs are displayed. If you wish you can also include Pages with drop-downs to sub-pages and/or custom links in your custom menu as well. You are in charge of what appears in a custom menu. You choose the order in which to display any and/or all the foregoing in your custom menu. You choose which to display and which to hide. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus

as i post more blogs they naturally jump from my home page back to the next page and then when that page is full back to another and so on. i would like to add a menu to my home page so that viewers can easily navigate back to whichever page they choose. currently in the lower left of my home page it only provides the option 'older entries'. i would like a menu titled 'pages' and that gives options 'page 1, page 2, page 3,' etc.

would appreciate any and all help

If I'm understanding the question correctly, just click the name of the blog at the top of the page to return to the home page.

you can add a Navigation Menu so that you can go back to say Home page of your site. ;)

I've added a few 'Pages' on my blog such as About me, Testimonials etc. The only problem I have is when you click and move to one of these pages, how do you return to the Home page? Perhaps I'm just missing it. Once you've navigated out of Home, I don't see a button where you can return?

Hi. I'm very new to this! Have uploaded some photos which can be viewed by myself (blogger) via media << library. I have seen other blogs where there is a "photo" tag next to the "Home" and "About" tags. The photo tag allows visitors to view photos directly without having to navigate. How do I activate this in my blog? And how best to organise the photos for ease of viewing? Thanks

I'm about to create a blog but before I do, I need to ensure my readers (who are VERY technically unsavvy) can navigate from page to page for each blog entry. Much like the bottom of this forum page does. Sample: Previous 2 3 4 ......58 Next

Hi there

I've tried to load my blog (http://lighthouseenglish.wordpress.com) from my computer and other computers. No luck.

Also, I can navigate everything on the dashboard apart from 'Pages'. As with my blog page it loads empty but with 'Done' in the bottom left on the bar.

Things went wrong when I was attempting to use the hierarchy option for pages. I could get it to work and then shortly afterwards I got these problems.

I'd really appreciate someone's help/advice on this.

This evening, something very odd is going on. when I try to click on any of my drafts, they load...and immediately disappear. I can switch to HTML view, and back to regular view, and it's ok again.
I also get the "are you sure you want to navigate away from this page" message when I try to save or publish.

I tried clearing the cache/deleting cookies, and that didn't help.
Firefox 3.0.1
Mac 10.5.4

anyone else experiencing this?

Is there a way to get a youtube video in a post to keep playing while navigating through the rest of the blog? I want the music to continue and it stops as soon as I click on another page.

Right click on the edit button and choose "Open link in a new tab"? When you've finished, just close the new tab? I never had the old way so this works fine for me.

Hm... you can try putting a bullet, since the other links in the sidebar has bullets. =D

Did you know that you can type whatever text you want in the "Write Post" page, click the "HTML" tag (so that it shows all the coding), then copy and paste the whole coding into the text widget? It's a good way to preview your text widget before you save your changes!

Ok, I finally made it work. But, the "Home" text is at the bottom of the sidebar. How can I move it to the top of the sidebar? Also, it shows two "homes", one as sort of a title and then another underneath it. Can I work around to that only one shows?

Now my avatar photo has disappeared. I have no idea what's up with that.
