Thanks for the lightning fast answer, but I think we're talking about two different things. (Though it's possible I'm totally misunderstanding your answer.)

My issue is not with how things display on my blog with menus, etc.

My issue is being in the "add new page" function and not being able to assign a parent there as part of actually setting up the new page.

My hierarchy is established and all pages previously created are properly assigned.

But when I'm on the "add new page" page for the new review and click on the "parent" bar under "page attributes" to assign to the parent page, the list that appears cuts off. It does not list all previously created pages, it cuts off at P, alphabetically. The page I want to assign this new page to starts with R, so doesn't appear. And the list doesn't scroll down to see the R page. Thus, I cannot assign my new review page to its proper parent page.

HAHAHA!

Okay, never mind! I was referring to the page again several times while typing the above to make sure I got all the labels right, and accidentally discovered that the parent page list will scroll if I use the mouse wheel. I expected the list to scroll simply by moving the mouse to the bottom of the list, but that never happened, so I assumed it didn't scroll at all. (And there's no scroll bar.)

All settled!

Only some theme provide dropdowns to subpages natively. You need to create a custom menu and add the Pages and sub-pages to it to get dropdowns to the subpages.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#creating-a-custom-menu
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-pages-to-your-menu

Troubleshooting – My pages are in the wrong order
Check the sub-pages themselves to see if you have established a Parent page and child page “hierarchical structure” in the page attributes module. Remove if required. Also remove any “order” numbers you have assigned that may conflict with the order you are creating by dropping and dragging. Or simply change them so they are the same order as you establish in the menu. Establish consistency – problem solved.

I'm in the process of copying over some of my Amazon book reviews so they are available in one spot on my blog and am using the page feature to do this.

I've set up a main book page that shows a tab at the top of my blog home page. On that book page I've linked to a few sub-pages broken up by book category.

The category sub-pages contain lists of books in that category. If the book has an actual review, then there is a link to the page with the review.

The problem is I've now added quite a lot of pages, and when I tried to set the parent page (which is a book category page) for the review I just added, the list of pages doesn't show them all. And there's no scroll bar to drop down further.

I'm not sure if I'm explaining this clearly enough. There are now so many pages that my list of possible parent pages cuts off before all are displayed. And I can't figure out how to connect the review to a parent page that exists, but is not appearing on the list.

Thanks for any help!

Bueno, like most of the themes that support custom menus, can only display one menu. You need to add the Family page and all its subpages to your actual menu, make sure the family subpages are all below Family in the order you want them, then drag them to the right to turn them into a dropdown.

I browsed for a bit looking for the answer to my question but I couldn't see the answer specifically. I am using the Bueno theme and it has the custom menu ability which I love. I'd like to see this for my main header menu: Home About the Blog About Timmy Family Thanks! RSS

My question is for Family, I've created a custom menu with hierarchy linking to my family member's pages on my blog. I'd like it to be a drop down menu. Basically, I created two custom menus. One is the Actual Nav Menu, the other is the family menu. I'd like to put the family menu in the nav menu as a menu item. I couldn't see an easy way to do this with the interface.

Can I put a custom menu inside another custom menu?
Thanks!

What you are trying to do is simply not possible. Firstly, the only theme with dropdown menus is INove. Secondly, the Pages widget only displays text and nothing else; that's the way it works. If you want clickable pictures in your sidebar you need to create them yourself and insert them into a text widget using HTML code for display.

Hi,
I'm having trouble getting the blog pages I want to display correctly.

Original plan: Have a 'Photo' page as the parent on the main bar. Beneath this I would have drop down child pages for each year 2007, 2008 etc..
I finally gave up trying to figure out how to get drop downs from the main header bar (I think this is theme specific and they don't all allow this?? i'm using Freshy)...and added the Pages Widget.

So now my Child pages 2007 to 2010 all show up on the sidebar under their Photo parent. BUT.. they don't show the content I've put in those Child pages (photos).. they just display the text i've put under the Photo parent page...

Please Help - this is doing my head in .. Am I just going to have to change themes or can I stick with my current one and fix this?

Thanks!
