Just a follow up on this problem - I was able to solve the problem by uploading the first image via WP Media and inserting it into the post manually (instead of inserting it in Windows Live Writer, which I have been using to write my posts). Ever since I changed that one thing, the post image pulls perfectly on my FB page/Networked Blogs feed. Thanks thistimethisspace for the heads up on that!

You're right about FB always changing things around - it's quite annoying, really. This problem began about four weeks ago. Unlike here at WP, it takes forever (if ever!) to get a response from Networked Blogs and it gets old fast. I'll double check the way I'm inserting my images and try again. Thanks for your help!

You cannot change the media attachments in your feed.
http://showmeoz.wordpress.com/feed/

We have no control over which images Facebook chooses to display and we have no control over how long it takes for the image caches at Facebook to be flushed.

They make changes frequently and what follows may or may not be where they are at today:

Only the first five images uploaded to a post (direct inclusion/gallery/slideshow) will be sent to Facebook. The images size has to be at least 200 x 200 pixels.
To select which image will be used for things like Facebook Publicize, you can use a theme that supports featured images. http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/ If a featured image isn’t set or your theme doesn’t use featured images, then the code tries to pick the first image in the post or page. If no image is found, then the blavatar is used. http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/blavatars/

I have been having trouble with Networked Blogs (Facebook) not being able to pull the correct post image (the first image) when syndicating to my FB account. Most often, it pulls the second image in the post. Networked blogs suggested I allow the RSS to pull the full text, which I have just done. But they also said this:

Your feed includes the images as media attachments and the attachments are not sorted the same way as their sorting in the post itself. So that explains why NB doesn't always get the first image in the post, because in fact it is getting the first image in your attachments.

I don't understand what this means - "your feed includes the images as media attachments" - what exactly does this mean and how do I change it? I'm hoping someone here can explain this a little more clearly than the NB folks. Thanks so much.

I've had this problem in the past linking my blog to my Facebook. It says I'm connected but I need to authorize. I click the link to go authorize, it reloads the page and say that I'm authorized. I tried going to setting>sharing and tried it there, but when I click "set options" it gives me an empty text box. And if I click on the WordPress app on Facebook, it's a blank page. I have one more method I'm going to try (disconnecting and reconnecting) but I've had this issue for a LONG time and this bug should get fixed. :/ Still love WordPress though!
Thanks for the help.

Are you referring to Publicize?

Facebook Pages
If you would like to Publicize your posts to your Facebook page, instead of your Facebook profile, click on the “Set Options” link underneath Facebook on your Settings > Sharing page. You will need to connect your blog to Facebook first. You will need to use a Facebook account that has a Profile with administrative rights to the Page.

Note: A Page-only account can not be used with Publicize. The Facebook account must have a profile. http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#facebook-pages

This can be due to someone else who claimed the blog of yours as him. Just go register your blog with Networked blog again and claim it to be yours. Networked blogs works same as your facebook fan page. Besides there are too many reports about it. So it's not recommended to have your blog on Networked blogs. Also you can report any spammy content on facebook.

raincoaster is correct so I don't know what you mean by another take on this issue. I do know as she has stated that you can use either Networked Blogs http://www.networkedblogs.com/ or RSS Grafitti http://www.facebook.com/RSS.Graffiti for posting to Facebook walls if you prefer.

RSS Graffiti periodically checks the RSS/Atom feeds that you specify and posts any new entries it finds to the Facebook Walls that you specify.

You can get any feed written on any wall (Facebook Profiles, Fan Pages, Groups, Events and Application Profile Pages). In fact, multiple feeds to multiple walls. You choose the combination.
