It looks like the posts no longer have an associated title, and that refreshing doesn't cause the issue that appeared earlier. Further, the blog's log doesn't seem to indicate any out of place edits or additions.

Can you let me know if everything is cooperating fully for you now?

Hey there,

After several more tries, I've reproduced the problem.

The strings that are appearing are the titles of the posts you've created. If you head to the "Posts" page in your dashboard, you'll see several posts named "Next Post" and "Previous Post". If you remove these titles, this output will disappear.

thanks very much for helping!
Screenshot might take a little as I do not quite know how to do it, must ask tonight... :-)
I also get the ´Next Post
and ´Previous Post
on my I pad though...and in Firefox...does that help?
Also if you click on a picture and afterwards go back to home via the arrows, or refresh the page or click on ´HOME` ...always happens :(
Thanx, Franziska

I am working with the portfolio theme and have a static front page (home). On the front page you just see rows of pictures/posts with no title that you can click on to see a gallery. When I refresh the front page or I leave a gallery with the 'going back' arrow to get back to the front page, some of the pictures/posts on the front page suddenly have a title saying, 'Next Post' or 'Previous Post'.
When I delete them, the front page is clear again. After I refsh the front page or go back to it via the arrow, it happens again, why?
Don't know what I am doing wrong.
Thanks!

Ummm... It isnt like that.

I deliberately want the Page Titles to be <blank> not because I want to omit them in the Navigation Menu but because I do not want the Page template of my theme to show Page Titles. Cant tweak PHP with WordPress.com so had to resort to this:

I created the custom menu by using 'Custom Links' with a 'name' and then entering the Static Page Permalink in the URL field. This way my pages appear in the Navigation Menu and because the actual Page Title was <blank>, nothing but a blank line break appears in the actual page body. I thought I almost tricked it..

Until I created another page with the <blank> title and WordPress.com named my pages 'Next Post' and 'Previous Post' on its own rights. Why is that?

Thanks for help though, Timechief.

Hey there,

Looks like I carried out neatly without a CSS Upgrade at inliterature.wordpress.com

But there is one thing still troubling me. I've created about two pages in the blog and both have <no title> (I left the Title field blank deliberately as I was using a Custom Menu in the navigations and I did not want Page Titles to appear on Pages).

After a while (maybe after some ten visits), I see that WordPress (or could be my Liquorice theme) changes the Page Title to 'Next Post' and 'Previous Post' (sometimes for both the pages, and sometimes for just one of them).

Can anyone explain whats that happening? Doesnt WordPress allow Page titles to be left blank. :/

Thanks!

Please give us the URL of your blog, and whether or not you have purchased the CSS upgrade. Also, do you want "next post" or "next post in that category" links, because those are going to be different. Can't do anything until we get those.

How do i add Next & Previous Post buttons within each entry? For example.. If a user clicks on a category and they get an archive of posts.. Once the user clicks on one of the posts, i'd like for them to be able to navigate throughout the rest of the posts within that category w/ next and previous buttons instead of having to go back to the home category archive page each time....

any help on this would be greattttt!

thanks!

Justin

It seems to be a problem with how IE7 is rendering cutline since FF (mac and windows) and Safari (mac) do not have the problem.

As cjwriter said, sent it into support with the details so they can make an adjustment in the code, at some point, to take care of it.
