Okay, SO, when I deleted my HOSTED domain I deleted my wordpress from it. and yes, I knew deleted forever, but I didnt realize I could never recover it outside of that domain. I didnt realize it would not be released, trapped forever in limbo OR that I could use it outside of the old domain if I just kept it.

so, yes, WP still has it. if I understand correctly its still associated with my email address, so I could prove it had been or is still mine, even though deleted. and technically, WP could reactivate it even though TOS states their policy is not to, in general, reactivate.

I think that you should be able to reactivate the WP url that you deleted. and yes, I know all the content is gone. well I deleted all the content before I deleted the WP from the domain I used to have. I wrongly thought that the WP url would be trapped by the old domain and if and when someone else purchases that domain I did not want them to have my WP url too.

so, what can I do? since it is possible, to reactivate a deleted blog url, and my email address should still be associated with it, how do you get WP to have heart and do it? honestly it seems odd to me that one can not do this. Even facebook lets you reactivate a deleted account page. So, comeon WP, its 2013.

Id like my http://divadesigns.wordpress.com/ back please. Though, oops, lord I hope I didnt use the old domains email address for it. Pretty sure not. but I have no way of checking now. :-(

All blogs are independent and deleting one blog registered under any username account does not affect any others registered under the same username account.

Provided you are logged in under the Admin username account that registered the blog in question you can delete any blog registered under that username by using these instructions. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

After you do that if you cannot locate a verification email, look in your email client spam/junk mail filter for the email with the blog deletion verification link in it and click that link. If clicking it does not work then copy and paste the link into your upper browser bar and click.

Deleted blog URLs are not recycled http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/ You may want to make the blog private instead and use it as a back up blog or for testing themes and widgets. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

Ah... a shame really, I was really enjoying WordPress, so I'll consider a mapping in the future. While I understand why they do not let anyone else reuse the name, I don't understand why the author itself can't retrieve it... but I thank you for the prompt answer either way.

gweneal.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.

However, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

Hi. I am really new to WordPress, and I chose a URL that I really loved. However, as I couldn't change the blog title for some reason, I decided to create another blog with that new title, with the old url. So I erased the first URL, checked the box to not use it again -on that blog- at least that's how I understood it, and now I can't retrieve it because it was not clear to me I couldn't use it -never- again.

Can someone help me? I really want that URL.
