Your post here is off-topic for this thread but I'll answer it anyway. Yes, you can pruchase a domain mapping upgrade and still have your blog free hosted here at WordPress.com. I have two blogs that are hosted here on their own domains with domain mapping upgrades.

There is only one main page for posts in a blog and all posts will show on the main (blog) page ie> running page for posts. If you do not want all the posts to show on the main page, then you can create a static front page for your site and also create a “blog” page. I created an ‘About’ page as a parent page and 3 other pages as sub-categories. Is there a way to make the ‘About’ page just a title (because I don’t want to enter any info on this page) where you cannot click on it?

Create a page to be used as your main page. In the "attributes" module in the page editor, select "full-width" from the page template pulldown and publish the page.

If you do not want comments enabled, on your pages, go to settings > discussion and turn off comments and trackbacks and save. On existing published pages, you will have to turn them off individually. You can do that by going to pages > all pages and use the quick edit feature and turn comments off quickly on the other pages.

Now go to settings > reading and set that page you created as your static home page (no need to select a "posts" page) and save.

Visit your site and you will see that your main page now has no sidebar. Do that with the rest of your pages as well (select full-width in the attributes module in the page editor).
