I see there's a :marker pseudo element in CSS3, but browsers don't seem to have support for it yet. I tried it in Chrome and Firefox and it didn't work in my tests.

I can control the type of number with the list-style-type attribute (such as decimal, upper-alpha, lower-alpha, etc.). I want to use numbers, but I want the character after the number to be a closing parenthesis rather than a period. So instead of

3. xxxxx

I want:
1) xxxxx
2) xxxxx
3) xxxxx

Can I do it using CSS?

I'm not even sure at this point if the site is actually hosted here at wordpress.COM. From this, "I'm giving a rundown on how to use a feature on our website" I would be led to believe that it is self-hosted on a different hosting service and not hosted at wordpress.COM, which would mean that you need to be inquiring over at http://wordpress.ORG/support/ as that is where self-hosted installs are supported. Even over there though, if they cannot see it, they will not be able to tell what is causing the issue or how to fix it.

Everything written around the 1, 2, 3, 4 steps is one font at a certain size, but the 4 steps themselves are larger. I don't know if this is actually enough information for you to go on, but I can't put the blog up until this problem is fixed. You can check out blog.kickitback.com to see the blog itself.

Have you got a link to a page or post where this is happening? I see only the standard hello world post and about page.

    • It works when I switch to visual editor, but when published on the blog it becomes a numbered list, which won't work for me.
