I'm still dinking with my site, but I chose the Ocean theme because it reminds me too much of my Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies PS2 game (The Unsung Wars is pretty cool too!)--with the bird's-eye-view and such.

So much space and so much freedom! That's what I like about this theme for my blog.

Check out my blog from time to time--because I'll be adding a lot of interesting stuff. (Since I *am* a writer!)

The cropping thing has been problematic here lately. Size and crop the image to the exact dimension required for your theme in an image editing program prior to uploading it and you should be fine.

I am using the Ocean Mist theme and am trying to upload a new image for the header. It looks to upload fine after the cropping, but I keep getting the default image on my blog. I have been able to change the image twice since I switched to this theme, but now it will not change at all. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's not supposed to go there. And it won't work anywhere else on your site.

Hello -

My blog is at http://parlezvousmoo.wordpress.com - I tried to add some code to the Ocean Scene CSS so I could track visitors to my page and it seems to have deleted background colours, header and what not. Any idea on how I can get it back to normal? Tried to re-install the theme but it doesn't seem to have made any difference :(

Yes, it is. You just need to modify the image however you like and upload it to your account, then in your CSS, you modify the background property pointing the URL to your custom image.

I got the custom css upgrade after support informed me I could change my blog's appearance from blue to yellow in the ocean mist theme. But in the CSS it looks like the colors are determined by patterned graphics, and since I can't change those graphics, I don't see how I can change the colors.

Specifically: ocean-mist/images/bg_header.gif I was hoping to change that dark blue to something lighter. Is it possible?

I see it on FF2.0.6 and Safari 2.0.4 if I look further down on the main page, and click on some of the other links. Apple 23" Cinema Display at 1920 x 1200. Does the same thing on my laptop screen with FF and Safari as well. Weird that it's only the first paragraph. Are you writing your posts using the dashboard, or a desktop client of some sort?

Looks OK to me in FF 2 under Vista. Monitor (laptop) is 1280x800. So my guess is it's your monitor's resolution.

Do other blogs with the same theme show the same behavior?

I don't see this occurring when i look at your site using FF 2.0.0.6 on Mac OS X 10.4.10. Everything looks fine to me.

@ozrisk: I am not using any custom CSS (since I am a non-paying user) - the only thing I have customized on the blog is the header image, which I cropped to specifications and which, when removed, does not rectify the problems.

@drmike: I have contacted support - twice - on this subject, and the reply was that I am using Safari 3, which, as beta version software is not supported. I replied that the problem persists in FF2, Camino, Opera and IE in all systems, thus is not a problem on my side; nothing yet. I am seriously considering changing the theme again, since the support does not seem to care:( My resolution is 1440x900, standard for all 17 inch iMacs - as for a screenshot, I have uploaded one here depicting the problem.

Any ideas?

Best bet would be to send in a feedback from your dashboard and give staff details on the issue. Please include your screen resolution and, if you can, a link to a screen capture showing the issue.

I tried converting one of my sites to Ocean Mist and was not able to replicate the error.
I note that you appear to have some custom CSS (your site has a different background for example).
Have you tried taking out the custom CSS to see if that is causing the problem? Otherwise, I would suggest sending in a feedback to see if there is something odd with the way Ocean Mist is working with the Greek typeface.

I recently applied to my blog the newly-made-available Ocean Mist theme, which I really like so far. The problem is that the first paragraph of each post body is cut short on the right side; in other words, the right edge of each line of the first paragraph in every post body seems to "step behind" the sidebar. All other paragraphs appear normally.

I have confirmed the problem in both Safari 3 and Firefox 2. What could be done?

I'm using Misty too with the CSS upgrade and changed the links (and borders between posts) from dashes to dots. Here's the spot for links...just change "dotted" to "solid"

As for the graphics, as soon as you make a change, the coded images' url's need to be re-stated. If your header image is custom, you'll need to enter that. For things such as the RSS buttons (which I uploaded and changed before I learned the following, thx to sunburntkamel) you need to re-state the url. For example, for the "curlicue" graphics in a list instead of plain bullets (which you will get if you do nothing) change the original url to:

I have just purchased the CSS upgrade and have my site looking pretty much like I want it, with the exception of the links. I want the dashed line to be solid under links in my posts and I want the underline removed when hovering over links. I have even searched the CSS file for "dashed" and can't find it. What am I doing wrong?

Also, what's the trick for the image urls in the theme (like the RSS buttons)? I've been uploading them to my storage and changing the link in the theme, but there are several more that I still have to do. Is there an easier way?

I got an email from support last night (late) and they asked me to check my formatting on my widgets, which I did, and the sidebar issue remains. Because of the problem I went back to the (Misty) template until the bugs get worked out of OM. This was 230 am last night.\

I asked Mark to post an update here in the forum of the fix it, and email me directly since I contacted him via support to report the issue.

Hopefully we will get some news today - maybe the creator of the template should check his original coding - because my OM template went wonky on its own, I didn't change ot enhance anything to make it go wonky!

I´ve been noticing several problems too. The theme schemes change everyday, as well as the widgets position, the picture alignment or the background color. It´s a pity, since this is probably one of the cleanest themes. I hope it´ll stay as it appeared.

Volunteers answering forum questions don't have backend access to blogs and cannot apply technical fixes - only staff can. Have you looked down the forum and noted that others had similar problems too? They sent in feedbacks to staff and their problems and the bugs they reported were solved. :)

Howdoo...

I noticed this afternoon - I made a post and my widgets seemed to have disappeared from the sidebar. They are not loading as usual. I tried the [Cntrl-F5] fix it and that didn't work. I thought maybe WP is tweaking the new themes. Some widgets are working but not all of them, it seems that the lower half of the blog isn't loading completely after publishing. Also when I access my blog from outside the system, the half page appears as well.

Happy 1 millionth user...
