Thank you for reply. So it seems to be very complicated and I beging to be worried of the final result in terms of quality, performance, etc.... A friend of mine with tech backgruond could help but I didn't understand if and how you can support according to rules of this wonderful wordpress.com.
Are you suggesting me to find another solution? Please let me remember I was trying to change to green not for pure pleasure but becasue the official color of this team is green. I like very much the template so I don't want to change it. Thanks in advance.

To go from the bluish of Ocean Mist to Green, there are 13 separate images that you are going to have to recreate since virtually everything you see in the Ocean Mist design is an image. I can't post links to those here in the forum since the akismet spam filter would kick in and send my to the dungeon.

Some of the image design elements can be done in the CSS using background colors instead of the images, but even doing that, there are probably at least 8 or 10 that you will have to recreate in your colors if you want to retain the overall look of the theme.

It is not quite as easy as that, unfortunately. In this theme there are numerous areas of the site that would need new background colours set and some images that would need replacing as well. It is not advised that you buy the CSS upgrade without at least a basic understanding of how it works. Maybe one of the other volunteers with a bit more time to spare will chip in and help you out.

Hi. It might be only you. Look at this random blog using that theme. Their background seems fine and, unlike you, the tagline "Theme: Ocean Mist by..." is appearing:
http://providencechamber.wordpress.com/2010/11/16/collaboration-connection-theme-of-knowledge-economy-forum/

So the problem might be one of your widgets or your posts. For the widgets, try going to Appearance > Widgets and dragging/dropping one widget at a time from the sidebar to the inactive widgets area, until the problem stops (then you'll know which widget poses a problem).

If that doesn't work, go to Settings > Writing and check WordPress.com should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically, and follow these instructions:

Also, Ocean Mist is a currently available theme here at wordpress.COM. Whatever theme a blog is using at the moment will not show up in the theme list. There wouldn't be any reason for it to show up. You cannot switch to a theme you are already using. If they were using a different theme, then Ocean Mist would show up in the list.

The thing of having http://www.ciudadanosdelmundo.org/ show up as the URL for a blog hosted here is because they bought the domain mapping upgrade and mapped that new domain to the blog here.

Hello,

I am helping a NGO with their website which seems to live here: http://www.ciudadanosdelmundo.org/ but is actually living here: http://fundacionciudadanosdelmundo.wordpress.com/

Now, apart from the fact that nobody can tell me how they did this, I am wondering about the theme they used.
It is Ocean Mist 1.2 by Ed Merrit (http://www.tenbytwenty.com/products/wordpress-themes/ocean-mist). But this theme is not part of the standard themes available to users on WordPress.com.

Now I want to upgrade their theme to the latest version (Ocean Mist 2.0) but can't find how to do this.

So, could anyone tell me how they might have used a custom theme on a blog hosted at wordpress.com in the first place, and then on how I could change/upgrade it.

Thanks a lot in Advance!
