I do not use the theme customizer. All of the very same functions that will disappear in the future can currently be accessed from your dashboard.
Appearance > Header
Appearance > Background
Appearance > Theme Options (applicable only to some themes)
Settings > Reading (set a static front page)
Site Title and Tagline > Settings > General

Am I remembering wrong, or did their used to be a preview option for themes? So that you could preview your content in the theme without activating it? I swear I've fiddled with such a feature before but can't find it now...

That's not correct: retired means no longer available on newly created blogs, but still available in blogs created before the theme became retired.

Justpi has stated the truth. There is no need for confirmation.

No content is ever lost when changing themes.
Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes
browse themes until you find one you like and click "activate"
or type in the name of the theme you want to use and
click the "activate" link when it appears

After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.

PS: I am scared to test Origin because I won't be able to switch back to fresh & clean theme now that it is retired.

Today I noticed the "Origin" theme, that seems very similar. Is that a better theme?

I know it is personal preference...but there are quirks to each theme.

This is the main font size setting, which in this case is sort of overridden by the other two that follow.

#menu-primary {
font-size: 1em;
}

This, shrinks the above font size down for the main top level menu items.

#menu-primary li a {
font-size: 0.846154em;
}

And this sets the menu size for the second and third level menu items.

#menu-primary li li a, #menu-primary li li.current-menu-item li a {
font-size: 1em;
}

Ignore the first bit of code above and just add and edit the second two bits of code.

Is there a way I can bring the upper left (logo) image all the way to the top? For some reason it hangs a couple spaces down. If you drag your mouse over, you can see where the empty space is.
In the origin theme settings, this image is under "choose logo."

I'm guessing I have to go into one of the .css blocks in "edit theme" but i don't know which one.

This looks like a bug -- thanks for the report! I've just deployed a fix that should prevent the sidebars from shrinking on small screens. Hope this helps!

It looks like you were able to add it back again and the borders are hidden now when I check the site.

few weeks ago I asked this Question which was resolved. However for some reason the grey border around my images have appeared again despite me not making any changes! I have customised it with the following CSS as advised

.hentry img,.entry-content img,.widget img {
border:none;
}

This worked fine, until now..?

You could adjust the selectors if you wanted to keep borders for just images in widgets or make other adjustments as necessary.

Is there a way that can change this across the whole blog? So that I don't have to do this everytime I post?
