This is a known issue with Sunspot -- depending on the length of the title, it may break in odd places. Here is a staff response from a similar thread.

The short version: The recommended fix is to find a theme that better fits the site title, or use Custom CSS to adjust the font size such that it fits at most screen sizes.

Theme is Sunspot. Blog is http://heizerguitars.wordpress.com Second blog is http://dfoislanders.wordpress.com/ Heizer uses Windows 7 and IE9 with screen resolution of 1280x1024. Morrison uses Windows 7, IE9 and Chrome with screen resolutions of 1440x900 and 1366x768.

Steve is building Heizer Guitars using Sunspot. In his view of the blog, the last letter S in the title was dropping to another line. That was not occurring in my view of his blog, using 2 different monitors and 2 different browsers IE7 and Chrome.

I switched my blog Islanders to Sunspot theme, and then the last S on the title S in my title also dropped to another line. But my view of Steve's blog title was still correct, with no letter drop.

Switching my browsers and screen resolutions had no effect - my Islanders was dropping a letter but my view of Steve's Guitars was fine, while his view of Guitars showed a letter drop.

The inelegant fix in IE9 is to go to the browser toolbar (use F11 if you can't see it), click on View, slide down to Text size and reduce it to the next smaller size. The inelegant fix in Chrome is to go click on the funny 3 horizontal line icon in the upper right hand corner, click on Settings, go to the bottom and click on Show advanced settings, slide down to Web content and then change the Font size to the next smaller.

This of course reduces readability. This can be overcome by using the hot key combination Ctrl + This works in both IE9 and Chrome. Note that if you use Ctrl + too many times, the text splitting, letter dropping reappears.

This problem and fix may also apply to other themes. Searches of the Forum using word wrap, text wrap and word splitting uncovered past references to similar problems in Blogum and Oxygen themes. I also see an inquiry about footer text wrapping in the Magazine theme. We are suspicious that this problem also caused Steve difficulty when his Under Construction post title was all caps.

I would like to hear back if other persons have this problem, attempt this fix and if it works or doesn't work for them. Also, I am unsure how this issue would play out on a mobile platform smaller than a laptop.

I checked http://laurenware.me/ and I see you are currently using the Chateau theme with a static front page. To make it so posts appear on the "Engagement" menu tab, go to Settings → Reading and change the "Posts page" value to your Engagement page. Note that it will hide whatever is currently on that page, and you will have to add new posts in order to see something on that page after the settings page.

The setting to turn sidebars on or off in the Chateau theme applies to all the pages, not just the blog page. However, it would be possible to turn on the sidebar in Appearance → Theme Options and then hide it for some types of pages using CSS. If you'd like to do that, we can help walk you through it.

I've been using my Manifest theme blog as a static-page website, and now I want to add a blog to the "Engagement" menu tab. The problem is, the space for the date in the blogposts overlaps with the menu under my header. You can see it here:

Questions:
1. Is there any way to move the posts down further on the page so that the menu is still fully visible?

2. Is it possible to adjust the formatting of the date and title on a blog post? (For example, can I make the post title be left-justified, rather than in the centre as it is now; or can I make the date appear under the title?)

3. Is it possible to have a sidebar (where I'd put the usual "Archives", "Recent Comments", widgety things) for ONLY the blog page/part of the site? I'd like the blog part of the site to be as much like a regular blog as possible, but for the other pages on the site to be static and pretty much like I have them now.

I am currently awaiting mod help in making the "Engagement" page's drop down menu BE a drop down menu and not the horizontal and unusable menu it is now. The above is all that is needed for the main repositioning. Then all you have to do is adjust the margins and padding and such to get things to look right.

You don't have to remove all div tags - just stray ones; that is, closing tags like this:

if they aren't paired with corresponding opening tags:

And yes, keep that option enabled and you'll never see such a problem again (or, to be precise, never again except if you add wrong HTML in a text widget: the auto-correct option applies to posts and static pages, not text widgets).

I'm having a weird issue with my blog. Any theme that I use (and I've tried many to test this out), there is an issue with the widgets and the side bars... All but my most recent posts will be wider than the newest one. The title of the second most recent post even shows up at the top of the blog. I'm so confused and am out of ideas.

The main content on the page (starting with the second post) overlaps the sidebar menu.
I can't figure out what went wrong, or what I need to do to fix this.

Obviously it looks like the content from the 2nd-10th post have a different pixel width than the
first post.
