Code for a linked image looks like this:

Notice that it starts with <a CODE HERE etc.
and ends with "</a"

code for an image with a caption starts with this:
[caption CODE HERE etc.
and ends with this:
/caption]

You can use your browser's "find" function to search for "butterfly" which is in the title of one of your photos. Then it's only a matter of copying all the code between the tags and pasting it where you want it to go.

It is also possible to click and drag pictures in the visual editor, but it can become messy, especially when your photos have captions because in the visual editor you cannot see exactly where the cursor is.

Best to brave the code so everything stays neat and as you expect.

There has to be a way, rather than deleting all of the photos on a page and adding them from scratch one by one in exactly the order I want them to show up.

Take note of the explanation and instructions in the "featured Images" section http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/hatch/

If no featured image is assigned, Hatch will attempt to pull the first attached image in your post. If no image is attached, the theme displays a light gray placeholder.

I don't want subpages to appear nor to be accessed anyway except through the links in the text as you can see on my page when you scroll down and click on 4noggins.

1. Go to Appearance > Menus
2. Click on the page name (in my case "Why Study Kdrama Laws") to expand. Click the Remove link.
3. Click the Save Menu button.

Please confirm that you were able to do this first. If it's still not working, would you mind posting a screenshot of what you see when you enter Appearance > Menus like the one I posted above?

Click Remove and then make sure this is not checked:
Menu Settings
__ Auto add pages
Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu

Lastly, click: "Save Menu"

@seandlane, looks like you need to overwrite the rules, not edit the style.css itself.

So in the menu that @designsimply mentioned, just add #page {background: #000000; color: #eeeeee;} to the field where it asks you to enter CSS code. :)

If it still is, click on the entry to expand and click Remove to delete that entry from the menu. Make sure you're just deleting that single page and not the whole menu.

In around line 20 of your style.css, there's a line that says:
#page { background: #ffffff; }

You can change this to #page {background: #000000;}

You can also add extra rules after the background. Like a color: #eeeeee; to make the text more readable. :)

With a better font color, of course hehe. I'm just trying to figure out which part of the page you want to turn black.

Any suggestions about how i can do this? (using the css customization page). I'm having the most trouble at figuring out the page id. Do I have to code every single post? Or can i just make the background black?

I have a page titled State by State Listings. I would like that to be a 'parent' page. When I attach one of the individual state pages to it, it then shows up under the Parent page. Is there ANY way that I can have the Parent page, but NOT the individual pages attached to it to show up?
