I've tried the advice and it's not retified the problem with the widgets. I read that support is non-existent on the link you gave on the wpbtips link, though the WP support pages say to send a message if you can't deal with the problem yourself and they will sort it for you. :-S

Thanks for trying but for non-computer technical people like me the above is reading like gibberish.

Typically this is caused by an open HTML tag in one of your posts.

Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”

Posts > All Posts, change all your latest posts to Draft, click Update, change them back to Published, click Update again. (You can edit all of them at once: tick the square in front of their titles then select Edit from the Bulk Actions dropdown and click Apply.)

@britishginger: You can change the order in two different ways: set an order number in the Page Attributes module of the page editor, or create and load a custom top menu (as auxclass suggested). Custom menu is easier.

And please link to your blog when asking questions here, or better make your username link to your blog (Users > Personal Settings: scroll down to Account Details, paste blog URL in the Website field, click Save Changes).

What I have found out is that they are displayed in the way that you published them. For example, if you have a home page, an about page, and, say a computer page, if you published the about page first then the computer page, it would display home, about, computer and vice versa.
Hope this helps!

I am using the Mystique theme for my blog, which is currently private until it's ready to go live.

Everything is working just fine, however, I am creating pages and I need them to show up in a certain order in the bar at the top of the main blog page. I can't find anything on how to re-organize these pages in the order I want them displayed in the top bar of my blog.

I have looked this up in Google and on WordPress Help, but almost all of the answers are dating back to 2006.

Am I missing something to simply reorganize the display of these pages?? It seems like it should be a really straightforward task.

thanks.

I have just changed my template to Connections, which displays the pages as navigation tabs across the top, as well as in the sidebar.

Is there anyway I can omit certain pages from the navigation bar at the top?

For example, I have a Static page as my arrival page ("Welcome to my website!") - and I have excluded this from the page order list, so that it doesn't show in the sidebar.

But now it is showing up in my top navigation bar - and there is already an automatically generated "Home" page - so this is like repetition of 2 links to the same page: it's taking up an extra tab in the navigation bar and is also confusing for readers because 2 differently named tabs take you to the same arrival page!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you
