WordPress.com has been running advertising on our free hosted blogs since 2006. Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. http://en.wordpress.com/tos/ Many also do not read features page, http://wordpress.com/features/ or advertising entry http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/ in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all.

3. When we register a username account here the email address we provide becomes our unique identifier. When we are logged into WordPress.com and register a blog it's registered to that username account we are logged in under and to the email address which is our unique identifier. We can register as many blogs as we wish and provided we are using the same username account then all the blogs will be registered under it and the associated email account. We can change our "display name" but that display name will appear on all blogs registered under the same username account.

In order to completely separate the blogs that you do not want to be associated with each other under the same username account you register another username account using a different email address when you are logged out of WordPress.com and register the blog under it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

But 3 other Q's arise:
1. I'm interested in buying 'Linen'. By purchasing a blog theme, am I committed to sticking with it? Lets say another one would actually suit me better after all, can I transfer to one that is in the same price structure as the first?
2. I'm aware of WP's store feature that keeps ads from appearing on blogs. Are all blogs subject to annoying advertisements showing up later?
3. This blog is designed to spark interest for a photo-info-book I am creating. three possible book titles are in the works. Can I have three different .wordpress.com addresses link to my one blog until the final title has been chosen?

Let's start with this: you can't post to more than one page on a blog. You can only create the appearance that you have done so.

Pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ that we bloggers create are static ie. they do not automatically update with new content. Only dynamic pages which are automatically created by the software when we publish a post ie. categories, tags, archives pages will update.

There is only one dynamic page for posts that automatically updates in a blog and all posts will display on that page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page. By default the front page of the blog will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page. We organize posts by assigning Categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic categories pages created by the software into the custom menu. Note that until there is one published post in any category there is nothing that can be displayed on the dynamic categories pages

Other bloggers rarely if ever backlink to static Pages in their published posts. Page structured blogs have a very difficult time:
1. securing traffic;
2. securing comments;
3. securing backlinks;
4. achieving authority in their niche;
5. achieving Google PageRank.

Do you offer static pages rather than full-on blogs?

No. However, you can create front page on a blog if you wish http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/ but that has negative SEO consequences and it's a traffic killer. Without doubt, having to click through the same blah, blah, blah on a static front page to locate your most recent posts every time they visit is an unnecessary reader annoyance.
