If you do not wish to have any widgets appear then you can go here > Appearance > Widgets and place a text widget at the top of the sidebar. Click to open the widget, add nothing to it > click "save" and click "close".

All themes provide a default display of what appears to be actual widgets but aren't. We go here > Appearance > Widgets select widgets we want to display click to open, configure where required, click "save" and click "close" inside each widget. Then the widgets of our choice override the default display.

These were a great help when I stuck with the original template of Paperpunch by Foundry. I've switched sites based on feedback from multiple sources and I'm stuck again. New template is Greyzed by Forge Web. New suggestions on adding the 'copyright language' at the bottom of the pages? These great suggestions before aren't working on this particular template.

You need to use a slightly different selector list for the Paperpunch theme. Try adding the following to your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS editor and click the Preview button:

#copyright p:before {
	content: "Copyright XYZ. All rights reserved. ";
}

Note that you can use ":before" or ":after".

You can add a text widget (doesn't necessarily have to be in your footer) and add copyright info to it, so that is an option. One advantage is there is no CSS required.

Another alternative would be to use CSS to add some text onto the end of the existing footer.

I draw this example from another response, so you will have to give it a try and report back if it doesn't work (I'm sorry I can't tell you for sure either way - I'm still learning myself).

To add extra copyright info:

#copyright div:after {
	content: " Copyright XYZ. All rights reserved.";
}

I'm trying to add a footer for copyright info to my site, but having difficulty with the footer widget. I'm using the Paperpunch template from the Theme Foundry. Any insights?

Using Paperpunch theme. Please anyone know how I can remove the Home tab from Menu ?? This theme does not support the WP custom menu so I cannot change the menus there. I set a page to be static homepage. Now I have duplicate pages. Where is this Home tab page?? Because I'll put something else in there if need be.

Does paperpunch theme not support static home pages and posts ??

I want to remove the Home Tab from the menu and only use my static home page. Which file can I edit to take this out?

That tutorial is not for the version of the theme we have here at WordPress.com. It's for the WordPress.org version of the theme. When themes are adpated to run on this multiuser WordPress.com blogging platform not all features are included in the versions we have. Please do not use the information you find on the internet for WordPress.org. Please see the two links I posted above as they pertain to our WordPress.com version of the theme.

I have this theme up on my test blog. The Paperpunch theme does not have a "Theme Options" page only some themes have one.
It has two links [custom design] and [background] and that's it.

This will do it and I shortened the navigation width a little bit so that it would not run over the RSS icon if the menu gets a lot of items in it.

How do I move the RSS widget to be in line with the "about" tab (not next to it, just dropped down further down the page) does that make sense?

The image is only 70k in file size, so that is very good. I wouldn't worry about it.

Ah brill thank you. Just done it.

I don't suppose you know what size you should make a wallpaper image so it's quick to load up? my dots seem to take a few seconds to load up. They are just tiled.. but not sure if i should make them a different size?

You might want to add this as well to make the font on your menu bold so that it shows up better against the background.
