Code for a linked image looks like this:

Notice that it starts with <a CODE HERE etc.
and ends with "</a"

code for an image with a caption starts with this:
[caption CODE HERE etc.
and ends with this:
/caption]

You can use your browser's "find" function to search for "butterfly" which is in the title of one of your photos. Then it's only a matter of copying all the code between the tags and pasting it where you want it to go.

It is also possible to click and drag pictures in the visual editor, but it can become messy, especially when your photos have captions because in the visual editor you cannot see exactly where the cursor is.

Best to brave the code so everything stays neat and as you expect.

There has to be a way, rather than deleting all of the photos on a page and adding them from scratch one by one in exactly the order I want them to show up.

Take note of the explanation and instructions in the "featured Images" section http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/hatch/

If no featured image is assigned, Hatch will attempt to pull the first attached image in your post. If no image is attached, the theme displays a light gray placeholder.

I just created a milestones page to display photos of the blog awards I received. However, the second photo is on gif but when I view the page it's stick on a jpeg format.

I think the Gallery would be the best way to go. Do you have the Custom Design upgrade?

There likely is a way to modify the spacing/border/etc of the gallery pictures to work toward your end.

In either case, the workflow would be to delete/draft the individual page and then modify the gallery to remove that particular image.

Perhaps not a slam dunk, but my best thought!

You can test it out before purchasing by going to Appearance → Themes → Customize → Custom Design and clicking the "Try Now" button.

Then go to the Appearance → Themes → Customize → CSS panel, and add the following example:

That should remove all borders and hover background colors from linked images in the Twenty Eleven theme.

If a product is sold, I can obviously delete the individual product page. What I'd like to have, is a system where I can also delete the thumbnail image and have any beneath it knock up a position to fill the space. This is an example of one of the pages in question:

I've tried putting the photos into a gallery rather than a 2 column table, but the photos have a border that I can't remove, and I don't have enough caption space for all the information I'd like to have with each photo.

Any suggestions?

Anyway I can do this with a gallery? Every photo in the gallery has a frame that I want to get rid of. Is this something I'd have to do through the CSS? I don't currently have that customisation package and don't really want to have to get it if I don't have to!

I'm pulling my hair out trying to create a gallery on wordpress's free, standard online version. Any help would be very welcome. I upload photos to the media library, can see them in the media library, but when I try to create a gallery there are no images shown to choose from. To the best of my knowledge I haven't installed any plugins or done anything else that should interfere. I tried changing the theme, switching from the standard one to another 'recommended' one.

Previously I got around this by uploading images and then pasting the image's library url into the post and displaying that way, but it doesn't look great and is tedious. For what it's worth, I've recently re-installed a different (better) version of windows and switched from chrome to ie10, and the only constant is that this feature didn't work properly before and still doesn't now.

I snipped a couple of screen shots if that helps.

Try clearing your cache on your web browser and try uploading the photo(s) again.

Unfortunately, we have no control over the images that Facebook chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.
