No, they are Links widgets.

@iesu:
a) You added the Links widget to the left sidebar but didn't add anything to the right sidebar. When you don't add any widgets yourself, the theme displays a default set of sidebar items. The default set in the right sidebar includes Links, hence the duplication.
b) Some themes (and some browser versions) cannot downsize images to the width of the sidebar, especially if the images are hosted elsewhere. You should copy the images to your computer, use an image editing application or an online tool to downsize the images,* then upload each image to your blog via Media > Add New, click Edit, copy the File URL from the Save module, use that URL in an Image widget to create the link (or edit the links in Links > All Links and replace the current image URLs).
* Maximum width for Garland: left sidebar 198px, right sidebar 188px.

The sidebars are controlled by Appearance -> Widgets. There will be the left sidebar and the right sidebar (you'll need to click on both of them to expand them), to remove the image, you just need to look for the 'image' widget (or possibly it's a text widget with an image displayed) and then drag that out of the active widget section. If you still want that image there, but just want it smaller then you should be able adjust the size in the image widget.

If you don't want both the left and right sidebar, just empty all the widgets out of the sidebar you don't want.

Howdy! Images will not appear on the home page in the post content area when using Structure, as it displays only the post excerpt.

To add an image to the post excerpt manually, you can do so using HTML and crafting an excerpt in the Excerpt field. The HTML to add an image looks like this, replacing the SRC part with the URL to your image file:

<img src="http://yamyameventproduction.wordpress.com/path/to/my-image.jpg">

However, this may not produce the best results, as images are typically not meant to appear in excerpts. In this case, it may be easier to switch to a theme that displays full post content on the home page.

I hope this clarifies!

If you click on yamyameventproduction.wordpress.com, you see the picture (dining table) as a featured image which is great, but if you scroll down to the blogpost NOMA you can only see the title and the text but not the picture. That's my problem.

Hi there,
The alignment icons in the WordPress editor are for aligning text; they are not for aligning images. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#alignment They are used to achieve wrapping text around images on either the right or left hand side, or to display an image that's centered without text on either side of it. If the text beside the images does not occupy the same amount of space that the image beside it does then the text wrapping will continue and the images and text that follow will have a staggered appearance.

Align-left means position left, with the rest of the content wrapping around the right side of the image.
Align-right means position right, with the rest of the content wrapping around the left side of the image.
Align-center means position center, with no wrap-around (= the rest of the content below the image).
To prevent the staggered effect what you do is insert the following snippet of code into the HTML editor after each image/text pair:

<div style="clear:both;"></div>

This is happening because the originals are wider than the maximum the theme allows (922px), so they get downsized to fit, and images downsized by WP lose quality. See here:
You should create and upload images that don't exceed 922px in width, and you should create better versions: the ones on that post have a lot of useless white space left and right.

Here's my site: http://www.indiaautry.com.

And here are the changes I need to know how to make:

1. I'd like to make my title "INDIA AUTRY" into upper and lowercase "India Autry." It's typed in that way in "Custom Design," but is still showing up in all caps. I found a way in CSS to make it all lower case "india autry," but that's not what I want.

2. For the menu bar, whatever page you're on is highlighted in the menu bar as black and bold, while the rest of the menu bar pages are gray. Is there any way to change this to gray and bold?

3. As you can see, my home page picture has a whitish background and the column in the middle of the page also is white. Is there any way to either put a border around the picture or change the color of the column?

4. I see in "Custom Design" how to change the color of the background (the area behind the white column). But no matter how bright and bold the color that you select is, when it's applied to the background, it becomes pastel and faded. Is there anyway to change the background to a bold color?

5. (This question might make Number 4 moot). Can I expand the margins of the middle column? I found some CSS stylings to do this, but they made the title and menu bar off-center.

Thank you! I know these changes seem picky, but I'm trying to make them at the advice of mentor, so if anyone could help, I'd appreciate it!

I deleted a post on purpose, due to an image I wanted to have removed. So I deleted the photo from my Media Library. Both post aswell as photo are removed from trash as well. But I found out that this "deleted"" picture is still available through a http://breathtakingportraits.files.wordpress.com/****** link

I want this picture to be deleted from my blog entirely. How?

I want to add a sidebar picture to a specific page (if that makes sense.. basically, I want a longer picture to run along what I've written, and not either on top or on bottom of the paragraph), but from the research I've done, I just cannot figure out how to do so! I obviously dont know how to work wordpress.

All the themes that have a place for a main picture up top, require that you either use the pic that came with the theme (yeah right), remove the pic altogether or use your own....but our own pics arent usually those dimensions or even close. And cropping them doesnt work out well either. Why dont you make a theme header so that the top portion can be cut in half so that the blog name/title is on the left and the picture(s) are on the right? Either that or let us move a dividing line so we can alter the space.
