Thanks for letting me know. I never heard back either. In fact after repairing quite a few post have quit posting any of the pictures from Pinterest on my blog. Loved how it worked before and how it clicked to the original pinner. It's a shame but won't be posting anymore pics from Pinterest, that's for sure.

Well, no response from Pinterest... and it has gotten worse.
YOU CAN NO LONGER embed a nice, attractive pin, with that tasteful automatic link back to the pinner and directly to Pinterest. Embed code now makes a small graphic with their branding all over it. That is, IF you can get their code to work... I can't.
The ONLY solution to this I can figure is to save the graphic on your machine, hunt down the original pinner manually in order to give them credit, add a caption with the credit, then proceed with your blog post. (And, with that method, Pinterest loses credit and site traffic.)
Sure hope Pinterest gets wind of how much this is impacting our decisions to link to THEM and reassesses what they've done. Til then, Sayonara Pinterest-linked posts on my blog.

Big difference auntiekate. I ended up having to fix quite a few posts. Haven't had time to contact them but not sure how much help they would be. They definitely did without notification on Pinterest. I had a follower tell me that they couldn't see my pics. Sorry to hear that you are going through it also.

Same issue here... seems like Pinterest changed some structure... for example, this code
"src="http://media-cache-ec4.pinterest.com/upload/75153887501279831_IqqQc5yC_c.jpg" "
from a while back leads to a Pin which now contains this in the embed code:
"src='http://media-cache-ak1.pinimg.com/550x/82/a0/ad/82a0ad9d6b99d9a548f18c5aa293d016.jpg'

Kind of a major difference, huh? ;) I, like ibdesignsusa, will contact Pinterest, but they aren't NEARLY as nice and knowledgeable as both you WP staffers and our beloved volunteers here, so I hope no hope. Major problem if Pinterest did this without notification!!!!

You can capture an image and upload it, link to it and display it in a text widget. I have done this here in the text widget at the top of my sidebar http://thistimethisspace.com/

You can upload image files by clicking the Add Media button right above the editing area of a page or a post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/add-media/

Hey,

for this you will need to use Widgets. You access Widgets by going to your Admin Dashboard. You can then go to Theme -> Widgets.

From here pick a widget called "Text" and drag it to the sidebar you would like to have it on.

There you can pick the image for "Follow Me". As far as I know WordPress.com doesn't allow JavaScript to be loaded, so you will need to use simple html.

I have seen other blogs with the "Follow me on Pinterest" button? I have a Pinterest account. I have tried to do this by going to settings and then clicking on " social media". It hasn't worked so far. Any suggestions?

Looking at the very first one (they all have the same issue), Pinterest provided this as the image URL: http://assets7.pinimg.com/upload/186055028327943640_TwiTyAiH_c.jpg and that image no longer exists.

I recommend contacting Pinterest about this.

It was brought to my attention that some of the Pinterest images were not showing. I fixed 1 of the posts but now noticed that another one is not showing the images. Here is the link to the post- http://ibdesignsusa.wordpress.com/2013/02/19/nautical-wedding-ideas-springsummer/

I originally embedded them in the text editor and they were showing when I originally posted this. Can anyone explain why they aren't showing now?

And I would like to add: Take a good look at the internet address in the screendump, it says bertholdbouman.wordpress.com while the Pinterest page shows. So this is a WordPress problem. Click on the 'Go Back' button of your internet browser and you are going back to the first page, not to my blog. You lose viewers like this.

The Pinterest button still causes problems, I encountered more problems yesterday. Normally when you click on a photo to add to Pinterest, the Pinterest page is closed and you go back to the blog page. Yesterday the page stayed in Pinterest mode, with all the thumbnails and it didn't go back to my blog.

Clicking on Cancel doesn't work either, you are kicked off the blog page and you stay on the empty page. I have reported problems with Pinterest previously, you would fix it, that was NOT done. That was in January! See topic:

@kathrynwp, you promised it would be fixed, please fix this time. I have a lot of stories this weekend, I don't want to wait another 4 months!
