I clicked three randomly seclected images and none were pixelated. You may want to try clearing your browser cache and cookies http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050 and updating your browser version if it's outdated. http://browsehappy.com/

when you press on the image and view the fullsize the image is so pixelated even though I have uploaded a high resolution file!

Hi,
If you wish us volunteers to help with this, you need to temporarily select the middle option in Settings>Privacy and link to the post in question so we can see what you're talking about.

Hi all,

I am experiencing the same problem. Sorry to be a dunce, but when you say 800 px or 600 px, how does that translate into ___ x ___ pixels, so I am able to resize the picture. Right now it's 307 x 425 and it's coming out pixelated.

Anyway, all the images in all your posts are slightly duller than the originals, because of the reason I explain in my article. But your last remark shows that maybe we weren't talking about the same thing. At the moment your images are just as they were when I first checked your blog, so maybe you were talking about severe pixellation: if you saw them ok then pixellated then back to fine, then you probably had a temporary browser or server problem.

Always wider AKA 99.9% of the time. I have many posts.

Also, note:

The images in question appeared okay initially and then went to being pixelated as you probably had the chance to see. Now, however, they're back to looking just fine.

Depending on the nature of the image, the issue might be less or more noticeable.

But... "always wider"? Example:

They're wider in all cases. I get the point you're trying to make and it's most definitely a valid one. However, I've changed nothing. The photos have always been wider and I'm only seeing the problem on the first page of the blog.

Sorry to be a bother. I just wanted to find out if this was a widespread issue.

Because in the last few posts the originals are wider than the correct maximum for the theme you're using (which is 680px), so WP downsizes them, while in some older posts the originals are narrower than that.

I'm letting WP resize the images but I've always done it the same way.
I don't get why I'm having these problems only with the last few posts now.

Are you resizing the images using WordPress? If so, then it's best if you resize the images on your computer.

This hasn't ever happened before but my images on the latest page have been auto-pixelated. I'm wondering what's going on and how I can fix this.

Hi there,

Had a similar problems, only I upload my photos to flickr then link to them in WordPress.

The problem: I was making the images big in WordPress when I'd taken the code for medium or small images from Flickr. This meant that wordpress was making a smaller image big, which naturally pixelates.

You can get the code for a larger image from flickr, or you can simply add "_b" in the image location code. e.g. instead of

...img src="flickr.com/338383747/image.jpg"...

you'll have

...img src="flickr.com/338383747/image_b.jpg"...

Nothing worked. I ended up just finding new images online and using the URL option instead of uploading, the resized inside of WP. It's the only way I could get it to work.

I'm still having the same problem. I resized my pictures according to the limitations of my layout. They still appear extremely pixelated when I upload from my hard drive (Mac). Checked browser too, everything fine there.

I have uploaded these same pictures before and there was never any problem. It's only recently that the upload doesn't seem to work.

Perhaps I'll try another layout template...

The bottom line is simple. Presize and optimize all images to the exact size you want prior to uploading them.

Thank you! I think it might actually be my computer..... when i hover over the images it says press shift and A to improve quality of images, don't know why though!

Hi, I'm having problems with the images on one of my posts, I've uploaded images to other posts and they've all been fine but this particular post seems to end up with the images pixelated. How do i resolve this?
