Well, it worked....but I don't know why. I always do prepare my images offline before uploading-those I may have resized a bit online....but when I opened the originals in photoshop on my computer, they were small already. Can't figure it out. But redoing the whole thing seems to have done the trick. Thank you!

The first image is huge
2,125px × 2,772px (scaled to 421px × 550px)
The second image is also oversized
1,292px × 1,507px (scaled to 471px × 550px)
Note the width variation.

I suggest you delete them and start again by sizing the images to the exact size your want them to be offline before uploading them into your blog. Preparing and resizing your images offline there will be no loss of image quality, you will also not be wasting your space for media and you won’t experience any problems so you won’t end up troubleshooting images. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/03/26/cropper-or-proper-image-preparation-2/

I recently changed from Oxygen Theme, to Sight Theme.
In the first one, I was using a slider show, but when changing to the new them, is not appearing. I have my sticky posts set, and I have chosen a static page same as the last theme. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to change all the image sizes to fit them in the new slider?
Thank you very much for the help!

It looks to me like a thumbnail of you 1280x960 image was used somewhere in the process. It's displayed as 960x260, but has 4x4 pixelation. That suggests something squeezed it to 240x65 then re-expanded it.

So do as thesacredpath suggests. Make a crop of your 1280x960 to a size of 960x260 directly. If that crop sizing isn't the view you want, make a resized copy of the original 1280x960 and try to crop that to 960x260.

• Removing the dimensions from the image code gives you better quality on the post, but the difference is very small; if I were you I might keep that in mind for future posts but wouldn't bother changing already published ones.

• There's no precise answer to your "how many" question. As far as images are concerned, loading time depends on three factors: number of images per page, file size, location of original. The fewer the better; the smaller the better; uploaded to your own blog better than stored in other sites. So you're doing fine.
