That is not a free hosted WordPress.com blog and we do not provide support for it. You need support for WordPress.org software and you are posting to the wrong support forum.

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have separate logins. If you don't have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

Hi, I run a news website Sumner Newscow .

My question is our town is doing a community treasure hunt for a "Medallion" for a big cash prize to click off a festival and they want me to run a post for 45 minutes at 6 a.m. and then have the post go away thereafter. Don't ask. It's a small town.

I know how to schedule a post. But is there a way to schedule a post elimination without me having to get up at that time and removing it each day? Kind of like a groupon sale for a strict time frame.

First thank you to airodyssey and 1tess for you input and that you're with me on this. :)

Concerning the "titles" idea you mention Tess. I think it's fantastic. I love the idea of adding titles to the pagination links. I don't know how this could be implemented technically but I thought about adding the titles as an attribute to the 'nextpage' tag like:

I agree: showing the page numbers below the likes, sharing buttons and ratings looks as though no one gave a thought about the design of the layout. Before those buttons were available here on WordPress.com they were easily seen at the bottom of a post, but now they look as though they are some unidentified numbers floating on a sea of lost code…

I'd even go so far as to wish we could add titles to them instead of having only numbers.

My new post called: "Nostalgia" doesn't show up in Reader as it should.

My followers can only see the title and not any of the text or even the usual/automatic "like" and "reblog" buttons. They have to click the title in order to read or "like".

Is there anything I can do to change this and/or prevent it from happening again?

You may want to confirm your timezone setting is correct. You can reset your timezone on your blog to reflect the timezone you actually live in. The default timezone is UTC time. You can reset your timezone here > Settings > General
Select the closest city to you in the same timezone you live in in the drop-down menu you see there and then click "save changes".

Can you locate the post here and confirm the setting?
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts
If so you can edit it and publish it.

I've scheduled a post for the next day 6.00 am but when I look if it's online the next day at 8.00 am it isn't. Does somebody know how this can be?

No, your subscribers won't be notified of new pages.

Here is what you see when you try to see the feed for your "about" page:

It is only feed for comments on that page. A new page will show the title of the feed, but because there are no comments it will be blank.

I understand that my blog followers will get notified when a make a new post. Will they also receive a notification when I create a page? Also, are only posts qualified to be freshly pressed, or it also applied to pages?

@tess - only came up a time or two - even the news sites that collect news headlines only do 15 or 20 Posts a day - assuming the OP has a real blog with their own content on it the worst that would happen is Posting would be shut off I think while they talked with the terms of service - I can't believe the blog would be suspended - but not a number the staff will give out in any case

I think there is some sort of max filter number that is an anti-spammer thing - but the number is not one the staff will release - but a "fairly large number that should not affect a legitimate blogger" - or words to that effect the last time I saw an entry about that in the forum

Does this happen in a different browser, like Firefox? If it works in Firefox but not chrome, could you please try deactivating all extensions in Chrome, as timethief suggested earlier, and let me know if it works?

Scroll down to the section called "Temporarily disable extensions."

If you're able to insert the photo, you can try reactivating the add-on one-by-one to find the culprit that's causing a conflict.

I'm really trying to convince Automattic to change the pagination placement. That's why feedback would be more than welcome. Help me out, please. :)

Everybody is welcome. From first-day blogger to regular volunteer. My hopes are, if enough people like to see this changed, Automattic might consider doing it. Carolyn (Automattic) advised me to discuss it here in the ideas subforum. So tell me what you think.
