I'm trying to limit the amount of posts per page on my website. Currently when you type something in the search bar it lists every post from the beginning of time. I'd like it to be 10. Here's how my code reads:

Once you have done that and I can see the theme you are using and determine whether or not it has infinite scroll I can help you with this.

I read from previous forum that all I have to do is click on Setting > click on Reading > Blog pages show at most _____ posts (fill the box with a number, let's say five).

But I did the same thing over and over again and I never seen any 'Blog pages show at most _____ posts'. I only saw this 'Syndication feeds show the most recent'. I'm not sure if it's the same thing but when I changed the number in the box, nothing's changed and it's a pain to scroll down to read everything.

Does it have to do with the theme I chose or not?

If you place one empty text widget in any footer area on your blog and refresh that Reading page, then you will find you will have the option to disable infinite scroll, and regain control over how many posts display on the front page of your blog.

Go to Appearance->Widgets and you will see the footer area. Put a blank text widget in it.

I also tried changing the "Blog pages show at most" to "1" but still the same.

There's an "Archives" widget which you can use to display a list of your posts/months you've posted in on your sidebar. This can be added from Appearance > Widgets in your dashboard.

There is only one dynamic page in a blog and we cannot post to more that one page. What’s critical is to understand when creating a website structure the following:

1. The differences between pages and posts and the impact of choosing to restruture a blog to become page based.

Although we cannot post to more than one page in a blog we can create the appearance that we have done that by setting up a custom menu and displaying Categories in tabs along the horizontal navigation menu. That feature is available for some themes but not for all themes.
