As of late, the "Press This" feature adds these to all quoted and typed text:

A real nuisance to remove those by hand each and every time.

98% of the things in wordpress.com work absolutely perfect for me, I love it here. The features I ask for are all quite simple, When I go to perform the functionality in question, I am usually surprised that no one at wordpress.com had thought of it already, simple features that increase functionality and productivity are a big bonus, WordPress to me is the king of the majority of these simple things.

Yes, I can go back into a post and modify the categories. However I have set up my site to work in a way that everything I need done when I make a post is nearly automatic by the system. No, it does not take much time to go back into the post and modify the category. However 5 years down the road that will be a large chunk of wasted time due to a lack of a simple feature that is already coded and simply requires implementation into another portion of the interface.

If you like, you can add categories or tags to the post. Reblogs show up under Posts -> All Posts in your dashboard, and they can be edited the same way you edit your own posts."

I personally think that for what you want to do on your site, you'd do much better to self-host using the WordPress.org software, rather than trying to do things on a WordPress.com blog that simply aren't possible for the amount of change you want. Even with upgrades, certain things aren't possible here.

With a self-hosted site, you would have almost limitless control over the whole site.

I've taken software design and computer programming in college, I think I learned a thing or two about how programs and websites are supposed to flow and operate, I make suggestions because others just may not see the issues I do.

I was advised by a member of staff to post this here after I had told him my idea and after I had advised him I get do not enjoy posting on the forums for anything other than help related topics because of responses like this. I come up with simple idea's that are simple to implement and increase the functionality of the site and I end up with people saying nothing but... You cant do that now!

Thats why I'm posting a suggestion, I am aware that this functionality currently does not exist but would my simple suggestions would increase usability and user friendliness of wordpress? Yes.

Reblogging looks much much nicer than a Press This however it lacks any and all customization. Primarily the modification of the Categories and Target.

The categories are not such a big deal because if you want all reblogged content to go into a single place you can set that as the default category.

Not being able to set any reblogged content in a new tab creates a continuity issue with my site. Every single outsourced link on my blog opens in a new tab except reblogged content. I've done it this way so people can browse both my custom created content and my aggregated content without accidentally leaving my blog and getting lost.

This posed a requirement for me to put a notice at the top of that particular category saying that reblogged content will open in the same window because every other external link on my site by default opens in a new tab.

I would simply fix it with CSS but none of the browsers support the feature to change how a link opens.

I've tried all the above and nothing worked for me. No error message, just the 'Press this' button doesn't move, and all that happens when I right click is that a box appears below with link (I guess) text, but there's no way I know of to add that to 'favourites'.

If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com please do these four things:

1. Try clearing your browser’s cache:

3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

If it’s still happening, let us know which browser (and version of it) you’re using and post any error reports you get.

I use IE9 (or maybe 8). When I try to drag the 'Press this' marklet button to the tool bar, it doesn't move.

Any suggestion? I'd really like to include links in my posts.

Eventually, PressThis will be replaced by the ReBlog feature, which does notify you of who ReBlogged the post.
