Hi there,
I see this post http://primemont.com/2012/10/12/the-changing-colors-are-a-welcome-sight/ Is it the one in question?

If it isn't the one you mean and if you created that post using the "Add New" on the main page for wordpress.com here http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ then what you describe can happen and worse still the draft posts may be lost and may not be recoverable.

If you created the post in your dashboard here http://primemont.com/wp-admin/post-new.php/ then you may be able to recover an earlier post revision.

Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of the post, click Edit and check the Post Revisions module for previous saved versions of the post.

If you're not seeing the Revisions module while on the editor screen, click Screen Options (top right corner of your Admin page) http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ to activate it. Then select the post and page modules to include them. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules Then you ought to be able to go here > Dashboard > All Posts > Posts and locate the post and recover it from post revisions.

If you cannot locate the post for locating and restoring a post revision, and it's not in your Trash folder http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/ then you will not be able to recover it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash

Yesterday I upgraded to the pro-bundle and added a new domain ( Primemont.com) now after saving a draft post, when I click the preview button I get this Error Message. (404: The requested page was not found) Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

I am used to having the Preview button open up one tab in my Opera browser, and reloading that tab with whatever edits I've made to a WordPress post. Tonight (8 Oct) it suddenly started opening up a new tab each time I hit Preview. So instead of having this:

(WP Edit Tab)(Preview Tab)<- reloaded each time

I have this:

(WP Edit Tab)(Preview Tab)(Preview Tab)(Preview Tab)...

Is this a new WP feature? Is it my browser? Is there a workaround? The way I edit, I could easily end up with twenty near-identical tabs.

You reduce the number of posts on the front page by going to your Dashboard->Settings->Reading and pick a number. Staff advises five posts.

Hi Timethief, thank you so much for your reply. It must be a browser problem because indeed I am logged in the blog website if I use Safari and the preview button works..

I have cleared cache and cookies in Firefox a number of times using Tools-Clear recent history and checking Cookies and Cache.
Then I went into Preferences- Show cookies and removed all the madonnadelpiatto and wordpress cookies.

I have tried this with various combinations of logging in and out and switching Firefox on and off.
Is there another way to clear the cookies? I must be doing something wrong here.

Raincoaster, how would I reduce the number of posts on the front page?

Logging out, clearing your browser cache and cookies and logging in again usually clears up the problem. When that faisl we try these troubleshooting techniques:

Some issues can be resolved by using another browser? If you haven’t tried another one then I suggest that you do.

Some issues can be caused by not updating your Flash. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.

Do be aware that you MUST gave your computer set up to accept cookies.

It's quite possible that the reason is that your blog is too large. You have WAY too much on the front page, and it takes forever to load. The admin bar loads last, and it took more than a minute for it to appear when I went to your blog. Reduce the number of posts on the front page, or reduce the amount of stuff that shows on the front page by splitting content with the Read More tag.

I can't help with the preview issue.

My blog is http://www.madonnadelpiatto.com and I am using Firefox 3.6.8

I am copying a post of someone else who reported the same problem I have at the moment:

"Usually when I visit my blog (not the dashboard) while logged in I can see the gray control panel at the top of the blog and I am recognized as "logged in" when replying to comments. Recently that panel has ceased to appear, even though I am indeed logged in and the blog doesn't recognize me as logged in and I can't reply to comments unless I go back to the dashboard and hit "reply" under the comment."

In addition the preview button does not work. When I write a blog post and I try to preview it I get a blank space in place of the post with this sentence:
Sorry, the page you are looking for does not exist

I have contacted support and they said I should clear cookies. I have tried several times to no avail. If anybody has another idea please let me know. This is very inconvenient

Hi,
whenever a new theme is rolled out and i read about it, i go back to my dashboard, search for this and then see the preview of my blog.

If a 'preview' button is provided right in the announcement page itself, I can right away check it out right?

Count the number of clicks/time to apply a new theme, like as from this page: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2010/06/09/new-theme-andrea/..
...against the two clicks if i have a 'preview' button right in that page :)

Won't it be convenient, faster and impressive?

That might work. I got the impression the Edit button was removed because of Club Penguin drama. People would post something, people would react, then they'd go back and edit it to look completely different.

That is all up to staff as to whether it comes back or not, but I've been here long enough that I actually saw some of the abuse. I would like to have the ability to edit also, but I have learned to live without it. Perhaps at some point in the future it will come back. Perhaps not.

Back to the OP. I would appreciate an edit option. I trust the abusers from the past were just a small part of your posters and that you would not "punish" those who did not misuse the edit feature. For abusers, can you block that user's IP address? I'd appreciate another review. Thanks! Jim Artis

That standard response was implemented by staff it make it easier on the volunteer here that answer the bulk of the questions. The wordpress.com and wordpress.org thing is confusing and at times I've seen fully a third of the posts on the main forum page be from people that are in the wrong forum. Since our software here works differently in key ways, and because we have restrictions here that self-hosted bloggers using the software from wordpress.ORG do not, if we answer their questions, we may be giving them the wrong answer for their self-hosted blog. I personally have seen times when I answered 20 of those posts from people in the wrong forum in the space of 20 minutes. If I'm doing that, then I'm not answering the questions from wordpress.COM bloggers.

The volunteers here always check these threads that get the standard response to make sure that it was not an error because the person did not include the link to their blog or for any reason.

Spend some time in the forums and you will see that this is probably the most responsive forum on the internet. The volunteers here are here because they want to help and to share their experience with those that need help.

We used to have an edit button and it was abused - so we removed it.

Oh, so that was a standard response (as I saw it literally in another topic as well), I see... so your users aren't even worthy of talking to a normal human. To be honest I am suprised wordpress.com survided until today with a staff using methods like this, especially as support is extremely important nowadays.

Pretty straightforward, add an edit button or at the very least an preview button, cause in my other topic for example I first used ubb which of course didn't worked (which I could have been prevented by a preview button), next by mistake I left out the a in < a href... (which also could have been prevented by a preview button).

This also gives wordpress a really bad image, cause if I would have checked these fora before using wordpress for longer then a week, then I would have certainly switched assuming wordpress itself must be programmed just as chaotically (which is not true, as I know half of wordpress's code by hard :P)
