Hey there,

It looks like the posts no longer have an associated title, and that refreshing doesn't cause the issue that appeared earlier. Further, the blog's log doesn't seem to indicate any out of place edits or additions.

Can you let me know if everything is cooperating fully for you now?

Hey there,

After several more tries, I've reproduced the problem.

The strings that are appearing are the titles of the posts you've created. If you head to the "Posts" page in your dashboard, you'll see several posts named "Next Post" and "Previous Post". If you remove these titles, this output will disappear.

Hey there,
thanks very much for helping!
Screenshot might take a little as I do not quite know how to do it, must ask tonight... :-)
I also get the ´Next Post
and ´Previous Post
on my I pad though...and in Firefox...does that help?
Also if you click on a picture and afterwards go back to home via the arrows, or refresh the page or click on ´HOME` ...always happens :(
Thanx, Franziska

I am working with the portfolio theme and have a static front page (home). On the front page you just see rows of pictures/posts with no title that you can click on to see a gallery. When I refresh the front page or I leave a gallery with the 'going back' arrow to get back to the front page, some of the pictures/posts on the front page suddenly have a title saying, 'Next Post' or 'Previous Post'.
When I delete them, the front page is clear again. After I refsh the front page or go back to it via the arrow, it happens again, why?
Don't know what I am doing wrong.
Thanks!

There are also some themes that allow you to change some of the font colors (such as the header font color) and to change background colors, etc. I've clicked away from blogs where the color combinations made it too difficult to read the text.

You can create a second test blog (set to private) just to try out different themes & see how they look "live" -- even importing your posts from your original blog so you can see what your own text looks like in it. Since the blogs are free & you can have as many as you like, there's no reason not to get one. I'd name it something like peterjgilliestestblog, that way you will be using a name that's not likely to be one someone else would want.

You can also invite other wp.com users to your private blog so that they can give you feedback on how a particular color scheme or theme looks to them. It's good to get feedback like that.

Have fun blogging!

So i guess also things like the text size and colour are also set within the theme.

Yes. These are 3 ways to change fonts on wordpress.com blogs.

(1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the HTML editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/font-size-color/

(2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2

(3) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the whole blog by purchasing an annually renewable Custom Design upgrade and using Typekit Fonts with Staff support. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
Note: Any font changes to font families, colors and size in the blog title, tagline, post titles, page titles cannot be done without CSS editing.

Ah thanks that explains that.
So i guess also things like the text size and colour are also set within the theme. That was going to be tonight's search quest because someone commented the white text on black was difficult to read. I had thought it a bit small, especially when there is alot of text (as i tend to ramble so) but i kinda liked the white on black.
thanks for your reply!

Some themes do feature bottom navigation links to recent and older posts on single and some do not. You have chosen a theme that does not have these links coded into the template. You can choose to install a Recent Posts widget in your sidebar which will display up to 15 post title links. Or you can choose another theme that provides navigation links. http://theme.wordpress.com/

hello, hopefully im posting in the right bit.
excuse my bloging experience is pretty fresh ive ambled through so far but something that is puzzling me is this...

When i post a new 'post' and this is published on facebook, when the person comes to my blog through this link why don't they have a older / newer posts button at the bottom of the post. Is this something I have to add in like a widget? I looked down all the menu's but couldnt see anything.

When i click on the general header of the page I get to go to a nice stream starting with the most recent posts with a 'previous posts' at the very bottom. Why is this not on the single posts? Im not sure its obvious to people how to find the other posts, with out knowing to click the header.
Hope you understand my question, i tend to over complicate things...
Any help appreciated.
