ya right.doc and .docx are still supported.. i guess this means a more detail experimentation of all formats supported by google docs because when I upload an image say jpeg or a non document file this ebded coding is not available...

iframe code is working fine for all the formats so I guess if support documents are updated with this code afcourse with a user friendly example then I guess even a normal user would be able to enjoy all that google and wordpress together can do ;)

Anyways thanx my problem is resolved for sure :)

Upon further investigation, it looks like the change only affects .pdf documents. .doc and .docx are still fine.

Try entering this:

<iframe width=100% height=560px frameborder=0 src=[your document's URL]&embedded=true></iframe>

@MAXMANX: still i wana make a way out if that is a possibility with your help....

A general code in our post is like this for displaying a spreadsheet and all:

[googleapps domain="spreadsheets" dir="spreadsheet/pub" query="hl=en_US&hl=en_US&key=0AmUNJ79PATsXdDRMNmR1WGROWWxNekpMeS1wSmxteFE&single=true&gid=0&output=html&widget=true" width="500" height="300" /]

By replacing the keyword domain and dir to docs and dir to document/pub and the key can be fetched from the sharing url provided by google then we can display a doc file...

In the same way if you can tell me what has to written in domain and dir for an external google doc (say pdf) then I guess I would be able to generate this embeding code by self....

Further publish something via google doc is lot more advantageous after plugin for Microsoft Office. Also, later if one decides to go for conversion to google doc it can lead to a dynamic blog post which can be updated by just updating the google doc...

So please help :)

It looks like Google has removed the embed code for non-converted docs. I suppose it makes sense, easier for them to support.

For now, I'm going to remove that section from the doc, but please feel free to try Scribd instead http://en.support.wordpress.com/scribd/ or let Google convert your file.

I am not able to publish a Google External Doc ("pdf" in this case) in my wordpress blog. Details are as followed:

If we according to the tutoial given at http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-docs/ the procedure to embed a document without converting it to the Google Docs format is given under the subheading External Documents – .doc, .docx, .pdf

I am facing the problem at step 5 which says Copy the iframe code into your blog.

The problem is there is no iframe code displayed at Google Doc page. Further the interface has changed than what is shown in the screenshot (http://en.support.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/google-viewer-3.png) given in the above support document at step 5. The screenshot of the interface I am getting is available at: https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B2UNJ79PATsXNzBlN2UzYmItYjAxYi00ZmQ1LTllYjAtZjU3MWEwMjFjNWYz&sort=name&layout=list&num=50

Even though I have tried to add minutest relevant details of the problem still anybody need any more inputs lemme know.
