Hi, I posted a new post today (http://thedomesticman.com/2012/12/06/lamb-tagine/) and the publicize/sharing feature didn't work at all. I don't mind manually submitting links on my Facebook and Twitter accounts, but I now have 1,000+ WordPress.com and 300+ email subscribers that weren't informed of the new post. The post has been up for four hours now and it has no "likes" or comments yet, which is unusually and disheartening.

Is there a way for me to have this post re-publicized, for my WordPress.com and email subscribers? I'm thinking there isn't a way, but just putting it out there.

Each comment has a permalink you can use to publicize manually, but if you do, your readers on FB and Tumblr are going to be pretty pissed off at you. It's one thing to say "here's something I wrote" but a whole different thing to say "And then this guy said this about the thing that I wrote" multiple times.

I have a post with over 2,000 comments. Can you imagine that I'd have any FB friends left at all if I publicized all of those?

FB does pick up the featured image for my fan page. The only time it doesn't is if I use a gif - I did that today and nothing went thru to FB for either my personal page or my fan page.

I'm sorry but we have no control here over which images how Facebook displays and how they are displayed. What we do know is:

Only the first five images uploaded to a post (direct inclusion/gallery/slideshow) will be sent to Facebook. The images size has to be at least 200 x 200 pixels.

To select which image will be used for things like Facebook Publicize, you can use a theme that supports featured images. If a featured image isn’t set or your theme doesn’t use featured images, then the code tries to pick the first image in the post or page. If no image is found, then the blavatar is used.

Hey no need to be rude. I posted the additional question and then thought it should be posted as a separate post, so I wrote it again. And I did read the explanation. A simple: you can't show more than one post would be sufficient. Not all of us are savvy to all this tech stuff you know. And as far as listing my url, when you post a question it asks which blog you are referring to, so I assume you have access to the proper blog.

Since you think I'm stupid, I'll see if I can add 6 days worth of posts to the "featured section."

I've had nothing but wonderful help here, but frankly, your attitude simply sucks.

Tess, Teck & Raincoaster,

Thank you all for responding.

Tess - Oops! Noted.

Teck - Great! Thanks. I finally succeeded.

Raincoaster - I dunno . . . would just like to make it look better: perhaps a different font, a different colour, with "the weblog of mike isaacson" in smaller letters on the line beneath it.

Also under the Publicize tab in FeedBurner (can someone please explain its interrelationship with WordPress), I managed to add a "Headline Animator" . . . but what is its purpose, and what does "↑ Grab this Headline Animator" mean?

From a glance at my blog, are there any other features that I should consider adding?

Thanks once again,

Mike
