For both solutions you need the author URLs:
http://thabto.wordpress.com/author/godsbooklover/
http://thabto.wordpress.com/author/krsedjn1999/
And you need your gravatar URLs. If you had uploaded your gravatars to your blog, you go to Media Library, locate each image, click Edit, copy the File URL from the Save module. If you hadn't uploaded them to your blog, you go to Media > Add New, upload them from your computer then click Edit and copy the File URL from the Save module.

Links widget solution:
a) You go to Links > Add New, enter the author name in the Name field, paste the author URL into the Web Address field, create an "Authors" category, paste the image URL in the Image Address field, set a rating number, click Add Link. Same thing for the second author, only the Authors category will now be there to select, of course, and you set a different rating number. The link with the higher rating number will show above the other one.
b) You go to Appearance > Widgets, add a Links widget to Sidebar, set the Category pulldown to "Authors" and the Sort By pulldown to "Link rating", check the options "Show Link Image" and "Show Link Name", save, drag to reposition.

Text widget solution:

AUTHOR1 NAME HERE

AUTHOR2 NAME HERE

That's a basic solution - the appearance can be modified any way you please.

You go to Google search and type in page rank checkers. There are many to choose from. It takes approximately 6 months of focused writing and frequent publishing of original content that attracts back links to achieve a page rank. The factors contributing to page rank are many, but the most important one is back links to your posts from other similar blogs in the same niche that your own blog is in.

Hello,

I just started a wordpress for my psych/folk band Backwords. We have been using our old site \"backwordsmusic.net\" for a while, but we want to migrate to our new wordpress site backwordsmusic.wordpress.com, which I got to point to backwordsmusic.com -- When you search \"backwords\" on google - our myspace comes up first, then backwordsmusic.net comes up second with the tagline \"backwords is a rock band from brooklyn and philadelphia, they have cowboy hearts and urban souls. they love cats and bounce on stage!\"

I have two questions - 1) how can I get the new wordpress site (which is backwordsmusic.com) to appear on this google search maybe second, right under the myspace.. and secondly, how can I add the little tagline on wordpress? - similar to the one underneath the .net site (\"backwords is a rock band from brooklyn and philadelphia, they have cowboy hearts and urban souls. they love cats and bounce on stage!\") - is there a place on the dashboard to write one of these?

Thanks for your help,

Tags are an aid for search engines just as categories are, but if you do not tag or categorize posts, then the search engines are going to look through the post and pull out their own search keywords from the content. Sometimes this works just fine, but sometimes it does not. Sometimes the search engines grab words that have little to do with the content or subject matter. By taking some time to categorize and tag your posts, you are taking more control of where you content shows up in searches (I say "more" because the search engines still might grab some of their own keywords as well).
