There is no custom gallery and you cannot use plugins here on a WordPress.com blog.

A lot of things are not possible on a WordPress.com blog whereas, if you were to self-host using a WordPress.org install, it opens up a lot more possibilities.

To understand the differences between what you can and can't do on a WordPress.com blog as opposed to WordPress.org install, please read this:

Features I must have: An image at the top of the main/blog page (like twenty-ten), a blog page that only shows excerpts of the blog so you have to click to get to read the entire blog, a rating system.

This sounds simple but I'm tired of getting it wrong. I'm not good enough at this yet. Thanks.

I am not sure what has happened there: at the bottom of my blog (fairroaming.org), I used the link widget to show links to associations and politicians supporting my work. Those links were sorted in a specific order (to which I want to stick) using the "Sort by: Link rating" setting and assigning link ratings from 1 (for those on top) to 5 (for those on the bottom).

This worked flawlessly for all the time until now, but when I checked the blog today I noticed that the order has essentially been reversed. So now, the links rated 5 appear on top and those rated 1 on the bottom. I did not change any settings in the last two weeks or so, though.

Does anyone know what could be behind this? I could easily change the order manually again but I don't want to do this if this is something that might change again in a few days...

I know it seems like there's no end to the BS but there is, you just have to see the silver lining at some point, and it'll happen in the right time for you. I think one of the most intense and oddly beautiful things in this world is that people are so shitty, but we still continue to live everyday, usually with our best foot forward, despite the muck.
