Yes. Provided you have CSS editing skills and are prepared to purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade and do the CSS editing required I believe you can.

Important note: CSS editing is theme dependent. In some themes, categories and/or tags cannot be hidden independently, as they are in the same selector as the other meta data elements such as author, date, and perhaps even the “leave a comment” link, which means if you hide one, then you hide them all.

Create a custom menu and include the categories as you want them arranged and assign that menu to the "secondary" menu location. The primary location is the top.

Hello, I'm enjoying the Enterprise theme for my blog, but am trying to figure out how to rearrange the categories that appear on the gray bar beneath the dark gray bar containing the pages. I need to change the order of these categories ("Interview," "Other" and "Book Reviews"). My blog is kriswampler.wordpress.com if someone needs to take a look.

Yeah, it appears to be a new feature exclusive to the new stats page. I can move the tables all around, but I cannot save them in any order other than the default setup.

This is probably a horribly stupid question, but...

I just discovered that I can rearrange the tables on my stats page...but every time I refresh the page (or leave and come back) it's back to the default set up.

Is there a way to save my own layout?

Thanks Jennifer, I actually worked out how to use the page attributes module. BTW, I have done more valuable work setting up this WP blog in one afternoon than I managed in 12 months using my old web software. The sky is the limit!!!!!!

When you use a Custom Menu, Pages are arranged however you choose to arrange them.

And if you don't use a Custom Menu, yes, the default is alphabetical or alternately you can order them by putting a number in the Page Attributes Module.

Go to menus > Scroll down "Contact page" > remove contact page. Now Menus> pages > see all and select contact page. Add to menu and save.

Just started up with a word press blog before I start work on redesigning my full domain. Anyway, after selecting the Twenty Eleven Theme and generating a number of test pages, I realized a small problem. My pages are being ordered in alphabetical order left to right. Is there anyway of changing this order so my "Welcome" page is at the left, and the Contact page is the furthest one on the right? Any ideas?

Hi,

I'm looking for suggestions of a WordPress theme that offers a clean, -fast- working appearance for a simple grid artist portfolio. I would really like built-in pop-out functions that would work for video, photographs and possibly audio as well.

In addition (if possible), for any text or html based posts (and possibly music would fit in this category), the grid would rearrange itself and expand that particular grid box and allow the other grid boxes to remain small but rearrange themselves around the page (HTML5?) similar to this page:

That is the natural structure of a blog: the most recent post appears above earlier posts, all arranged in reverse chronological order.

The idea is that readers come to your blog to read your latest news and won't want to scroll down, down, down to find it. Consider how much scrolling that will be when you have 300 posts!

Thanks, I had read the first two links previously but the third was new. After reading that, maybe my question should be "How do I turn off the current navition bar?" Yes, I realize I may not be using the correct lingo here, any education is much appreciated.

I already tried to create a custom menu, save it, and view it. When I did, visually Iended up with two navigation bars. One in the order I wanted (the customized menu) and the other not in the order I wanted (the orginal navegation).

Do I need to pick a theme that doesn't include a navigation bar?

If you create a custom menu yo can then you can drag and drop the Categoies into any order you wish them to appear in. I may be having a bald moment, but I cannot find anything on the organization of a navigation bar. I do understand that I could add a customized menu but that doesn't take care of the problem of the original navigation bar. Much of the information seems to be pointing me to customized menus.

First go to settings > general and make sure the time offset from GMT/UTC is set correctly for your timezone.

You can arrange the posts by editing the timestamp for the post. Open the post you wish to move above the hello world post and click on the "edit" link to the right of "published on" in the "publish" section, change the time/date as required and then click OK and then click "update post."
