I got a surge in traffic referred from FB yesterday, a big jump, when I hadn't even put my post on Facebook. I know someone must have put it on a personal or group page of some kind, and I'd like to find it, as it's a community I'd probably be interested in being part of or posting my links in the future, since there was such an interest.

Is there a way to find out exactly where it's coming from on Facebook? When I click the link on my stats page it just takes me to Facebook.com, not a specific page.

Any trick to this?

This is the post that got all the Facebook traffic, if it helps: http://intentionalgeek.com/2013/05/25/diy-game-terrain/

Unfortunately, based on the number of friends I have clicking through from their own Pinterest accounts from their own computers (where there is no chance of me being logged in) the stats are still off from what I know to be actual traffic.

Unfortunately, no. I know exactly what you're going through, because I was the first person on Wp.com to get a custom domain, and when I saw the change in hits I was outraged. Wait it out, though; within 4 months it'll come back, as search engines figure out what happened; right now, they're mistaking you for a whole new blog with no pagerank.

To facilitate the process, get some incoming links to your new URL. The more and the faster you can get them, the better.

http://mkhmarketing.wordpress.com

So I'm in the middle of a graduate student blog project, part of which is implementing a tactic for driving traffic to my blog.

I decided to post social media-themed images on Flickr and Pinterest linked to my blog and it's working great for Flickr. No joy on Pinterest though.

I've gone on other computers under other accounts and clicked the link through from Pinterest to my blog but the activity is not showing up in my blog stats and Pinterest is not listed as a referring site. I've verified my WP blog with Pinterest, so I'm not sure where the issue is.

Any ideas?

Here's my Pinterest profile: http://pinterest.com/mkhmarketing/

Any help greatly appreciated.
