That is, I have just renamed the blogg and kept old comments. Now I want my new username to be shown in OLD comments, not my old username. The new gravatar picture is shown correctly but my old username is still there. How to fix this?

in a gallery you have the option to "Add a caption..." below every picture.

Why is it not possible to copy one caption, and paste it easy to other pics in the gallery. Its neither possible via mouse, nor via strg-c + strg-v

I understand how to do this from the Managing Categories info in Support, but what I am not clear on is how adding/deleting/renaming categories will impact on individual post URLs, or search engine links... are there implications I should be aware of? Will I be creating 404s? (I have never created links to musicwork.wordpress.com/categories/... in any of my posts but I suppose someone else may have).

And if there are implications, are there any workarounds? I'm really keen to overhaul my blog - lots of things have changed since I first started writing.

You can set a category as your default category so you won't get the "useless" uncategorized tag if you forget to choose another one:

Setting the Default Category

A default category (uncategorized) will be assigned to published posts if you don’t specify one. The default category can be changed under Settings -> Writing in your dashboard.

apologies, my brain is running slow, my own blog is having issues today too...

Ok I *think* you want to get rid of the main tag at the top of the page "Uncategorised"next to About, Recipes etc. yes?

I checked your posts, you haven't added ANY categories to them at all so first you need to choose some and add them (just click the " +Add new category" bit at the bottom of your category section).

Once you've named it something else "Fish", "Favourites", "Chowders" etc then just de-checkmark the "uncategorised" one... if you do that with all your posts so far then does the tag at the top disappear?

I'm not very tech savy but this would at least be my own first course of action...

I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly but for me the "uncategorised" box is at the top of your Categories section.

To get rid of this as a tag on your current blog post simply click on the check mark that's in the little box next to the word "Uncategorised" and it will disappear (and click again if you change your mind and want it back etc)

You can do this with any topic in your Categories section, not just the uncategorised one ...

Just be patient. Also make sure that you've got your privacy settings, set to the the correct option. Dashboard - Settings - Reading, then on that page, by 'Site Visibility' select "Allow search engines to index this site" then scroll down and click the 'Save Changes' button.

It might also be a matter of the material already having been published... search engines, particularly Google, don't like duplicate content. Another volunteer here might be able to help you more with that.
