Hi,

I lost my password for my wordpress.com account. Not the one I'm using right now, but another one.
I can't reset my password because I also lost the "main email". But I can access the "secondary email" linked to that account. And this "secondary email" being linked to that account forbid me to create another account with this "secondary email" as main email. Any help to recover my account ? How can I make WordPress.com to send me my reset password to this secondary email ?

I used the blog http://joeslime.wordpress.com since 2008 and I have lost the password completely to it. Not only that, but I'm unaware what e-mail is used for the site now (I know the username: joeslime). The blog's e-mail was at one time [email redacted] (I have a couple e-mails around December 4th, 2012 about the blog in question: joeslime.wordpress.com to that e-mail.) I changed the e-mail a couple of times and now I have no way to reset the password!

This blog had over 120 posts and they are all very sentimental and special to me. Please help.

I am using another log-in that's under [email redacted], which is my preferred correspondence.

The blog is titled "Kyle C Tasch's Literature Blog" and I am Kyle C Tasch - I can provide proof.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi,

I have 2 usernames lilandra and lilandrax. I don't post with lilandrax, I just have it because that is my username on youtube. I post as lilandra on my husband's blog. However, I think it may be a problem with using the same email address with both. I didn't know that wordpress didn't allow you to do that.

When I push password reset for the username lilandra it doesn't go to my email that is registered with it at all. I know this is the right email because on my husband's blog,it is the email associated with my comments. However, when I push password reset on the lilandrax account it will go to the email account. I tried changing the email for lilandrax, but it still goes to the email with my main account when I password reset.

It is very frustrating I don't know how to fix it.

As this worked so very well last time, I am again stuck. I have updated my profile about a dozen times in the passed hour and every time I go to my blog and click 'About', I see the same old info... Any suggestions? (Yup, I cleared the cache, a couple of times; even shut down and re-started.)

My second issue is one that has plagued me since the FIRST day I signed in with WordPress. Although everything I read ensures that Gravatar and WordPress work together and only ONE password is required for both. I'm all for that. Anything that saves me remembering another 10-20-digit password is okay by me!

The problem, they DON'T play together! For a more detailed rant, please see my most recent blog, but the jist is:

I tried to use the 'verify yourself' and was directed to enter my Gravatar password.
I did so. Received a message that the password or user name is invalid.
HUH???
Okay; requested new password.
Clicked link and entered new password (the SAME one as before).
Go back and try to connect to verify myself. Now my WordPress password is incorrect. *grrrr*
Okay, request new password. Click link to reset password. Reset with SAME PASSWORD just entered for Gravatar.
Okay, both should be linked, right?
Click Verify.
Receive: PASSWORD OR USER NAME INVALID.

WHAT???

So, I am begging for assistance as to what I am doing wrong between these two accounts. I have requested help REPEATEDLY through Gravatar. The only thing they seem able to say is, "Please re-set your password or user ID."

Thanking those with wisdom and suggestions in advance!
*hugs*
luv khrys...

I have created a new WP account to ask this question.

I have set up a WP.org account and am building my site. I want to use jetpack and when I link to WP.com, I am informed that there is already an account linked to my email - guy[at]guybutters[dot]com.

When I request a password reset, it does not arrive. (I have checked the spam and junk folders too.)

When I try typing the same email address into the "Resend Activation Mail" box on the support/contact page, I get this message "We were unable to fetch your activation record. Are you sure you specified the email address you signed up with?"

Weird and extremely frustrating - please help!

1. This is true.

2. Not entirely true. He is using a registered .com domain name with the WordPress.org software, he is not using WordPress.com. Please see this for details: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

3. These changes are made though the WordPress.org software, not WordPress.com.

4. If you're looking for local professionals who can help with self-hosted WordPress.org installations, try http://directory.codepoet.com/ or http://jobs.wordpress.net/

Thank you for your response, but I'm still more than a little confused on our situation. From what I read over the weekend & your response:

1) It appears that the employee who passed away used wordpress.org to create our 'websites' (true/false)

2) He then posted the code as a dot.com site on GoDaddy, and somehow linked the files (true/false)

3) Somehow the code on GoDaddy is still linked to the wordpress front-end because when I make changes in wordpress to the sites I have admin access to the changes go live instantly. (true/false)

This last question (I promise) is not directly related to these sites, but will help none-the-less. Because I have too many other responsibilities to spend days figuring this out on my own is there any listing of certified/experienced wordpress consultants by region?

Those are self-hosted WordPress.org blogs, which we really can't help with.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.

WordPress.org has complete support and documentation sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress via their Codex and Support Forums.
