I just imported my blog and got it all set up using galleries. I'm looking at my RSS feed now, and it does not look very nice. The gallery images are only posted as thumbnails in the feed, but they do not maintain their square shape. (eg if it's a portrait instead of a landscape, the image is tall and keeps them from being lined up). Is there a way for the gallery images to be posted full size in the feed? What can I do about this so my feed doesn't look so bad.

Also, if you click on a thumbnail in the feed, it doesn't take you to the carousel, it takes you to the attachment page for the image.
Thanks.

The feedburner links passes FeedMedic and PodMedic tests for podcasts. However, testing for submission into iTunes still fails.

I am trying to submit my WP podcast feed to iTunes as a podcast, and get the error, "We had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed." I have been following the Podcasting instructions [http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/podcasting/] and fail when iTunes "tests the feed."

My WP category feed is: http://reasonup.wordpress.com/category/podcasts/
(The audio podcasts are embeded through SoundCloud.)

I tried burning the original category feed through Feedburner, but that didn't help.
(The feedburner feed link is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/ReasonUpPodcasts)

Research seems to point toward the original WP category feed not creating an 'enclosure' tag for the actual podcast file, but I need help to verify and how to resolve it this is the case.

If it is pertinent, the audio that the WP (and feedburner) feed is trying to 'enclose' is linked here: https://soundcloud.com/reasonup/tm001-icebreaker-mysecret

No, it's fine. :-)

I actually build a separate RSS tool for my main website. The last time I did anything with web development was more than 8 years ago and there were a 'couple' of changes since then. It took me a week but I'm almost done now and this is one of the last parts I had trouble figuring out. I've tried to integrate my entire WP blog with my website, but the style sheets and my lack of css were proving to be too big of a hurdle to handle, so instead I'm exploring this route which I view as one of the best alternatives.

With some luck I might still be able to make the website go live tomorrow at a family reunion. It'd be very nice to show them what I've been up to lately. ;-)

Ahem... I almost dare don't say it, but... I'm self published, so those recommendations came from me. Currently my website is still in development and not yet published, it'd probably make a lot more sense when I can show what I'm trying to do rather than attempting to put it in words.

For "automatic" your best bet is the RSS feed noted above - different readers can do different things - some just the headline - others can add some of the article text below it - or have it take the first sentence along with the title - that should not have the duplicate content issues above - that does mean that you need to write a great lead sentence -

one news site does that with my site - the title and first certain number of words (about a sentence) (for some reason my lead picture does not come across automatically) - seems to work fine.

If what you are asking is: "Can I create duplicate content across domains to game search results then read what Google thinks about that here." >

No actually, that's not what I'm interested in. :-)

With my blog I often make announcements about upcoming releases of my novels and other works, but I also feature things like writing tips or general stuff that keeps me busy. In order to make it easy on people to keep up to date on my content I spread it through various sources where people are keeping in touch with me. Goodreads is an example of that, but I'm also part of other communities where my blog posts are distributed to.
On my website I'd like to feature this content as well, and it's too much of a hassle for me to completely move my blog over, although that's actually still an option I'm considering too. Either way I prefer to have a single spot where I can update my information without having to create duplicate posts.

I'll look into the options timethief gave me, the links look very promising and that could be just what I'm looking for!

Thank you both for your responses. I'll post an update if I managed to solve my problem.

If you are not referring to auto-posting entire posts thereby creating duplicate content across domains but only want to post links and snippets then read on please.

Every WordPress blog has multiple RSS feeds. This is the RSS Feed URL for your posts http://jasperstorm.wordpress.com/feed/ If your website has the ability to draw from an RSS feed that's all you need. You will have to write something in PHP or javascript to do that. Here are a couple options:
However, last week I also started building my website, and I want to have it fetch the updates I posts on wordpress automatically.

I know it's possible since goodreads is already fetching my blog posts, but I don't know how they do it.

In short; I don't want to export my wp blog and start over with a new wp blog on my own website, but I do want to show the content I post on wp on my website. The idea is that I continue to use wp to write my updates and that those updates will continue to be delivered to the various sites where people can also read my blog updates.

Can anybody help me out with my question?

I have recently inserted an RSS icon to my blog's side bar, but am struggling to understand how to hyperklink that icon to my RSS feed.
I also can't seem to find the right URL for the RSS feed as I haven't used it before. I have tried the various site URL/feed combinations but it refuses to work.

Could someone please advise how I can find, or what is the URL for my RSS feed? I think once I can figure that out, I know how to hyperlink.

Thank you

Hi there Handfulofsapphires,

Since this is a completely different issue with the Flickr widget, could you create a new thread? You can tag it with "modlook" to ensure a staff member sees it. You can just copy and paste your request from here to the new thread.

You can go here:
http://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1

You would "modlook" this post by entering the word modlook in the field under the post area itself.

Cheers!

My Flickr widget previously was set at "small" size photo options.

However, I tried to updated the number of images shown from 3 to 4 and it will only revert back to the thumbnail size photo option whenever I click save.

1) Have moved this around to various parts of the sidebars + all possible widget areas to no avail.
2) Does not matter if I decide to show 3 photos again (nor 1 - 10) it still jumps back to the thumbnail size option.
3) Have deleted the widget to redo the flickr widget.
4) Moved widget to inactive to edit. Still jumps back to thumbnail size.

Haven't changed my choice of browsers or updated anything recently.
Firefox; view is the same on both Firefox + Safari. Any assistance appreciated!
