There's a setting that specifies the maximum number of items that can appear in an RSS feed (Settings > Reading > "Syndication feeds show the most recent"). Suddenly, it can't be set higher than 50 items. I can change it to 49 items and below; but whenever I try to go above 50 items, the value is automatically switched back to 50 when I click the "Save changes" button. When I created this blog, that value could be set significantly higher than that (that's actually why I went with WordPress in the first place!).

Is this an official change for WordPress? Is there some way I can populate my RSS feed with more than 50 items? If not, that's going to be a big problem for me.

NOTE: I've tried clearing my cache and cookies, as well as switching browsers, as instructed on other pages. It didn't make a difference.

You will have a complete index but it will be on a page and pages do not have RSS Feeds.

Note that Pages do not have RSS feeds.

These are interspersed over the last 2,5 yrs of posts. I want them all to appear in Itunes. Sorry If it might be obvious but are you saying this not possible in this current format?

Hi,

I can confirm this. There were some fatal errors and timeouts in cases where a blog loaded an extremely large number of posts in the Recent Posts widget or Posts per page setting (in Reading Settings).

As raincoaster and timethief pointed out, your best bet is the archives shortcode on another page.

You could also insert a link to your Archives page in a Text widget below the Recent Posts widget. e.g. "For more posts, please see the Archives page." http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/problems-with-widget-recent-posts?replies=14#post-1032121
