hi,
So do you mean is that wordpress has scrapped the scheduled posts button that they had before today?
What if nobody visits the blog after the scheduled time?
I liked to have it post at a certain time every night. Does this mean I can't do this anymore?
I'm not sure I understand the logic behind this.
thanks,

Thanks for the quick reply!

No, unfortunately, I can not find it under all posts. The only way I can find it if I look under search.

So I guess it will show at 23:00.

It seems odd that I have this problem coincidentally on Jan 1st of the new year.

I used to be able to schedule posts days ahead of time but when I tried to do it for today, January 1, 2013. I figured it must be a glitch because it was the new year so I tried to do it today to post for tonight.

There was no 'schedule' button as there usually is. I edited the date so it was for 23:00. The only button available was 'publish' so I clicked that. It showed as it usually does when I publish something and yet it doesn't show up.

I tried to find it as a scheduled post but that doesn't show anything.

Is this a wordpress issue? I'd sure hate to lose the scheduling option.

Any help gratefully accepted!
thanks!

Hi there,
I'm providing three answers because I'm not clear on what you want to do.

1. The default timezone is UTC time. You can reset your timezone here > Settings > General Select the closest city to you in the same timezone in the drop-down menu you see there and then click "save changes".

2. Some themes show the timestamps on post and some don't. You have two options.
(1) Type in the time on each post.
(2) Switch to a theme that has this feature.
Themes with and without timestamps http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/posting-time-displayed/

3. schedule a post
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/

It doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes when I am ready to schedule a post, when I click the button, the dates aren't visible at all.
The only solution I've found is to close down IE9 and use Firefox instead. But this isn't an option when I'm using my little travelling laptop because I have had to limit the number of programs installed and don't have Firefox because it's not compatible with Windows Live Writer which I use when travelling to reduce ISP costs.
And anyway, I guess the function should work whichever browser I use, right?
I am using Windows 7, and IE 9 (the latest version).
Thanks for your help, Lisa

I've had a couple of posts miss their scheduled time over the past few weeks. The latest was this morning (9am GMT). I write my posts for this blog on Sunday and schedule them for during the week. They're always set for publication at 9am.

This usually works fine, but when I checked this morning's post, it wasn't published and when I checked it out on my dashboard, there was a Missed Schedule message in orange next to the publish button and settings. Why did this happen?

All I needed to do was click the publish button for the post to go up, but that rather negates the Scheduling facility if I have to do this from time to time. What if I hadn't been around to check my posting this morning e.g. if I was away on holiday. How confident can I be that Scheduling posts will work in future?

This URL of this morning's scheduled post is:
