Thanks for your suggestion.

I dropped that code into the add-on .css file, and it does make a magnifying glass appear. There is a warning about the tag being over specified, but when I made the change the warning suggested, (Just use #s, not input#s), it no longer worked.

The palette was generated using the WordPress customization tool. In the forms section of the theme's css, there is a section similar to the one you suggested that does have the reference to the search-bg.png icon file. I'm not a CSS expert, so I'm puzzled as to why it didn't work.

I have recently changed from the Koi theme to the Thirteen theme. I am also a novice with CSS. When I was using the Koi theme, I deleted the search box and then switched themes shortly thereafter. I wanted a search box back after reading advice about creating a great site/navigation from http://onecoolwebsite.com. In the Thirteen theme, I have added the "search widget" to my sidebar, but want to change it so that the search button is inside the white box to type in (as one element). How do I change the css to do so? Better yet, how do I customize the css to have a search box with the magnifying glass in it? Right now the search button is below the box, which looks cluttered. Thanks in advance! http://picturesquekeepsakes.com

Well, rats, that didn't make any difference. So the vertical menu is still black (although the rollover color is right). And the page name (ie, Home) is black as well. My goal would be that font colors in both areas would be #4977a6 and the rollover color a brick red, which is working in both instances.

Two reasons to start a new title: 1) it shows no reply until someone replies in some way. 2) the topic can be searched. But I'm no expert on any of it, I just slide by and play with css when I have a bit of time.

I had a quick answer ready for you, but here's what I find so far. The specific selector is entry-title with this code

.entry-title {color: #00ff00;}

of course substituting your color code. This will change entry-title wherever it occurs and that may not be exactly what you want.

So try it out and look around your pages and posts to see if it has unforseen or unwanted consequences. Post here again if it needs more attention.

I moved to the "Sight" them today and all is well except the built-in "search" box in the the header/right is broken... just shows "Search..." in text. My site: http://wedgeintheround.com/

I've not modified the CSS.

It should be a small search box as in the demo: http://sight.wpshower.com/

Any thoughts?
