How long ago did you change to your new domain? Because it takes a number of weeks for the search engines to actually start indexing your new domain, so it won't show up in the search engine for a number of weeks. So any new post you make, won't start to show up for a while. In addition, having a new domain, means that the 'rank' of the domain starts back at zero, and it takes time for it to regain it's 'ranking'.

You can use the webmaster tools and submit a site map if you like, that could speed it up, but it's not really necessary (http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/) but your site will get back into the search engine, it just takes time.

I write my own articles and in the past before I got my domain they appear on search engines - even top page if there was "no traffic" at the time I published them. But since I got my domain, my articles RARELY appear on s-engines anymore. I don't want to pay for traffic, never did, and don't want to start now. Is there something I can do to change that? Some articles even vanished on search engine.

1) install the jetpack plugin, then post back here and ask staff to transfer the subscribers for you.

2) Yes, you can, and yes, it absolutely will effect the indexing.

3) no, but search engines are smarter than they used to be and they will soon learn you're not a new blog and rank you appropriately.

4) you would have to do it by manually copy/pasting and making new posts, but it's a better idea to just set it to Private; if search engines see the same content on two different blogs, they'll downgrade both of them as spam.

Hello
I intend to transfer of my blog contents to a new WP.org site and purchase redirect.
I have four problems/confusions and I would be grateful if someone would explain it to me:

1/How do I transfer subscribers?

2/Can I make major reorganizing/restructuring of categories and tags after I exported to the new site? Wouldn't that affect the indexing on search engines? (as I am counting on redirect)

3/Is there anyway I can maintain/transfer my page rank?

4/ I would rather not delete the existing blog as I wish to keep it as back up for a while and reactivate it after a few months as a personal archive (once the new site becomes fully functional & gets dedicated admin hired). But how do I keep it updated with contents from the new site?

Thank you very much.

I had wondered if tags/categories might have something to do with it... but as I tend to read multiple books by the same author, I had hoped to give blog readers a way to search for all topics about said author, or where I compare books, etc.

I guess the thing that gets me is that according to my Google Webmaster Tools (which I have asked about over there, and no one really helped) the site is ranking with the strangest search terms. It seems like the tags are getting more search action than the blog name... Is this normal for a WordPress.com blog?

For example... someone searched for a book, and the tag I have for the author popped up, but not the review I did for that book. I will be the first to admit that maybe I don't understand WordPress.com as well as I thought I did... but I just need to know why/how. And if it is an issue with content/tags, then why is the blog ranked well on Bing and Yahoo? Wouldn't it be doing poorly all around?

There are 353,000,000 results when searching "Written Permission" on Google. 70,900,000 results for "Written permission blog." I can see that your blog IS indexed with Google, it is near the bottom of the first page of the results when you google the title of your most recent post.

You are using a lot of tags and categories, which might be affecting your ranking. Cut it to ten or twelve, not eighteen. Otherwise, I think it's just that you chose a common phrase for a title and your post titles are also the default title everyone else thinks of for book reviews. If you do more posts with original titles, tagged/categorized appropriately, it should naturally follow. Also, of course, the QUICKER you do a book review after the book comes out, the better.

after the latest google panda update on the 21st of december, our google traffic has dropped significantly, so that it seems google has downgraded our site.

We were wondering if anyone knows or could suggest why this might be as we generally try to create a very high quality blog with good seo (alt tags on images, no broken links, no funny backlinking, no duplicate content, keeping the website loading time down etc...)

Since the 21st we also changed our theme, which should improve the sites performance at the next google update - so we hope, but we are still wondering what we could do / if there is anything that we might be missing.
